Hi all.
Looking for help I wired my satnav direct to the battery like I did on the bandit only draws power when the satnavs in the bracket all working fine.
Also had my Oxford oximiser charger on worked fine it gives a read out of battery condition and level fine.
I left the charger connected but turned the power of.
Now a week later came home from work a load humming comming from the shed.
The alarm would not turn on /off pressed the ignition the alarm went of cancelled that but the bike was too flat to fire !!.
Put the charger back on and it seems fine again will leave it overnite and fire her up tomorrow.
Anyone experienced this  :ohplease:

Hi Pross, I don't use a battery optimiser so I'm  guessing here, but it sounds like the charger is still drawing current and monitoring the battery even though the mains supply is off. Someone who has the same charger may be able to confirm this for you mate.

Thanks for that I was wondering about that even though it's turned off as you say it maybe drawing power to monitor the battery . I left it about an hour charging went down and as normal pressed the starter and she started a bit sluggish then it said on the screen immobilizer error but she was running.
I will leave it charging overnight hopefully I've learnt the hard way and not to leave connected when off.
Thanks shaggy. :sweatdrop:

Not sure why you would turn the Optimiser off unless starting the engine? They are designed to be turned on all the time so as to keep the battery at it's 'optimum' level of charge.

thanks all who answered.
my old charger did just that charge.
as you all say this one is optimising and testing.
I have a power switch in the house that I shut down the shed with.
forgetting about the charger still connected :censored: :censored:.
it looks like I have learnt the hard way hopefully no damage to the battery.
