- ok , have paid more attention to the TPMS display and the reading does go up , by say 2-3 psi over the period of a ride.

- is that what you guys are seeing too ?

- thanks.

Yep. Dependent on weather conditions. Considering it has not stopped raining for the last two months  :hammer:  pressure does not go up by more the 1-2 psi.
Better to be old and grey than the alternative!

I was out for a ride/blast/bimble the other day. With a lot of braking, I got the front tyre pressure up by 2psi for a few seconds then it would drop back down again.

last alps tour we went from 5 degrees ambient temps on the mountains to 35 degress in the valley within1i hour, never saw psi change more than 2, 3 absolute tops

I run mine 42/42 and when the tyres are cold and the weather is chilly I get the tyre pressure warning and after a couple of miles when they warm up it goes off and they start reading at 40/40 and rise to the 42/42 not had any problems in summer so maybe worth getting a little more critical and checking the pressures from cold. Any ideas cause if I do 42/42 cold I believe they will get to 45/45. Had a new pair of tyres on about 1500 miles ago cause the last owner had let the tyres square off.

Hi, I do inflate mine when cold to 42/42 & yes when they warm up they do display 44 or 45 psi but that's fine.

Thanks mate, will give it a go.

This from Kawasaki UK re. temperature compensation: -

"Tyre air pressure varies greatly as the tyres warm up, but the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System takes this into consideration and recalculates the pressure for 20℃ to avoid confusion and false warnings. "

Still see pressures go up when the tyres warm up, however

On the road there is nothing wrong with a slightly harder pressure than the actual pressure due to heat....As long as it's not stupidly high, before anybody jumps down my throat I race bikes at national level and fully understand levels of grip and feel due to pressures etc. Basically stop worrying about 2 or 3 psi and ride the dam thing! :censored

Nice one Timmy ... Where and what do you race ? I always love talking to lunatics about their natural abilities  .... Either you've got it or you haven't and at National Level you clearly have !
I am sure everyone would like to hear a bit of background etc ... If you don't mind !

Currently I race for team Army...competing at Thundersport Gb, the Manx and which ever bsb rounds I can make due to deployments but I keep my hand in best I can, im total loving the GTR at the moment it's such a good all round bike.

Just to be devils advocate ...................... Anyone disposed of that old fashioned inflation gas compressed air and replaced it with last years must have extra Nitrogen ?   :mfr_lol:

Hi guys new member so be gentle😉👍I keep a 90 degree valve extension in my top pocket all the time n once a week check tyres. Only takes a few seconds to put on valve n check pressure at any garage pump. Works a treat on my 08. Oh and 42 /42 psi every time that's the way I go seems to ride well on those pressures. Anyway good forum guys lotsa useful stuff  cheers guys just my 2 pennies worth 👍🏍🏍🏍🏍  😀
