I'm sure there was a thread like this already.. But can't find it.....

Anyway...10mm allen key out... ACF50 tin in hand.....

And 20 minutes in the garage lubricating the front disc mounting 'rings' ( don't know the proper name)

Only needed a gnat's cock of lube on each one, and a little twist with the Allen key.

Roll on spring.

Went to the Classic bike show at Newark and back.   Washed the bike when I got home and noticed the finish on wheels not as good as it should be, so Im pleased I organised to have them powder coated from a guy at the show. Reasonable I thought at £50 a wheel.

That sounds like a good deal Ant, what colour are you going for?

Black I think with this sparkle stuff in. It looked nice on the demo wheel.

What they can do is make picture of your bike with the said colour wheels in place so you can see what they look like before you buy.

They are a local company too, so I can take the wheels to them....

I tend to use a tiny, (really tiny) amount of brake cleaner on the bobbins and then turn them with a hex head in a ratchet. It's so effective you can see the brake dust residue just falling out. Just make sure nothing drips onto or into the callipers.

Wynns brake cleaner is the stuff. I was surprised how stiff they are even when cleaned, it is an expansion joint bear in mind.

What did I do today - I unwrapped, fired up for 15 mins in garage and sat alongside wishing it wasn't peeing down, then turned off allowed to cool and wrapped up again in a nice new ( old) duvet.

I love my GTR - can't wait for April !
