me and a few mates are heading down south on the friday 8th july. stopping for breaky a the ponderosa. then through bala, down the west coast of wales through aberystwyth. booked the friday night b&b in tenby, then on to the 2nd b&b in ilfracombe, then down to lands end though newquay, bude, then across the other side and back up! stopping at the 3rd b&b in torquay. 4th day monday, head back north cutting across through ludlow and shropshire, whitchurch and back to scouse land. ::)

You'll enjoy a friday night in Tenby all the valley boys and girls down in their static vans for the weekend, good run for ilfracombe rather than motorway would be the A477 and A40 to Carmarthen, A40 to llandovery west end cafe for a bite to eat, then on towards brecon, then the A40 to Abergavenny via Crickhowell then out towards Raglan on the A40 and then options of A roads or the M4 and the second severn crossing and towards Devon. I'm sure you have a route planned but just worth mentioning a few ideas of where to head  ;)

Sounds like a very decent plan, Newquay is just a few miles from where I was born, not what it used to be like in the 80's but still a thriving town and some decent night clubs if thats your scene.
