I have recently upgraded to fibre ,  got it all rigged up to wireless  had a booster plugged in downstairs so the ipad had full strength , got lovefilm on the tv,  but it was only letting me watch certain films , saying that the speed was not fast anough , so I upgraded to a fibre package with talktalk , I canot tell any different , my son who bought a game for his xbox it took 4hours to download a 10mp game ,  I tried a speed test and it gave between 1.5 - 4.4  mp speed on the ipad , but on the computer it said 9.5 , is this because the signal for the xbox  and ipad is sent wireless  so is not as strong as the computer , is ther any thing that I can do so I get the same strength as the computer is getting for the xbox and ipad , if not I am wasting my money ,,, it's all a bit baffling , any help thanks ,,,,,,,

That's certainly slow for fibre. Do you know how far away you are from the cabinet? You should also have a letter stating the expected speed.

Given that you're getting 9.5 on the main computer (which I assume is hard wired into the router with cat5 and not wireless), then you need to speak with TalkTalk and ask them to rectify the issue.

As for the wireless signal, there's lots of issues that could be causing the issue. Location of the router, positioning of the antannae, thickness of walls etc.

I had the same issue at my house and resolved it with the use of Homeplugs and wifi repeaters.
