Jeez ! Just goes to show you never know where a thread will lead!

Just to point out that whenever I post a  :mfr_lol: it's to identify the humour associated with the text. It should also be pointed out that Zeds post had the same  :mfr_lol:at the end of his post. The remarks were therefore meant to be taken in jest - this is an open forum for everyone and everyone's sense of humour as well.

But on a serious note - isn't this site going to be slightly more in support of the Kawasaki than any other marque. Enquiries of other makes here are courting a partisan response which should be taken in good sport.

Spot on comment Tommy, couldn't agree more, that is precisely why I always put a smiley should be taken in light gest NOT SPIT THE DUMMY OUT!! if you give it you should have the balls to take it too. All this talk of apologies its pathetic. if you have not got any balls then strap a pair on!!. Get a grip and deal with it FFS.!!!

This is a well run forum and this type of post and the following comments is what makes it interesting and to some extent exciting at times instead of boring chit chat, long may it continue.

get a grip and deal with it

I just knew that you would be back soon, and get the show back on the road. This is what a forum should be like    hard hitting,     lots of fun,  tongue in cheek comments,   and large helpings of utter   :shit:    :mfr_lol:  :mfr_lol:

Bang on target

As I was the one who started this thread it's time  I responded...The GS is  a fine bike, I've owned one although it was a pre WC model, it just didn't suit us and that why I changed back to another GTR.

Pistole I'm sure that you will have many many fantastic hours of riding on your new bike, good luck with it and enjoy, I'm very pleased for you

It doesn't look as if anyone on here has heard of the apparent issues with the, ahem, BMW GS, I also thought the 'reports' strange which is why I posted a  emoticon in the first posting, out of interest the links I used were copied from another biking (non BMW) website, (the members of which are always interested in  other marques),    and not originated as a result of any research on my part.

It has been interesting to read all the 'responses' ( :shit:)  to my original posting, and whilst I may be of 'senior' years I can confirm that I do have a long memory, and very big balls   :mfr_lol:

OC I was surprised at the strength of endorsement for this machine after it had ripped the lock stops off the frame on several bikes at press launch.  The press launch was cancelled after an incident which may or mat not be related.  As yet we the end user have not have any official statement from the manufacture with regard to this events premature closure.

Your initial post with regard to the birthing pains of a new product was of interest as being a certified petrol head I'm interested in all technical issues and their conclusions.

As you imply in your open reply.................BMW like all manufactures have product issues and the strength of any marque is its speed to recognise an issue and provide a quality response to that issue.

OC please keep bringing food to this table........I for one may not always agree with the flavour, texture and temperature  of the dish that's served, but variety is the spice of life and life is for living.

I finish with this thought................If a bike is stable and selling well, why erode your profit by fitting a steering damper ?

Mr pistole.. where was that pic taken? it's a very smart and more capable adventure bike than it's competition  do you do a fair amount of "off road riding" I chose the Kawasaki versys 1000 because I don't  just wanted a completely different second bike to my 2013 ZZR1441 but it also needed to be comfortable, have some decent grunt and handle well and the versys 1000 hits the spot just spot on   I also like the new 2014 K.T.M 1190 model with Motorcycle Stability Control "M.C.S" "check this out" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h9MVbkpLZQ  and before the dithering dodderers "Geoff and Rog" say.. you should do all braking before a bend and not on a bend! is of course right  but if you needed to brake on a bend "for what ever reason" the M.S.C would come in very handy  but the new K.T.M 1190 is about as much use to me as a ashtray on the bike  with a seat height of 890mm I would be ok till I needed to stop :surrender: :hammer:
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

Roger, that is very naughty putting a picture of a steaming pile of poo with that badge sticking from it. You should be aware that a good friend of ours owns one, (a bike ), and apart from pouring vast quantities of oil down its neck, and feeding it regular supplies of headlight bulbs, it has actually been rather good.  :whistling:
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

here you are  simple really :whistling: in a nut shell.. motorcycle stability control (MSC) that ensures safety and stability in all riding situations. So if you are braking hard while leaning into a bend on a slippery road or accelerating on wet surface, the MSC system will ensure that you can do so without a mishap. MSC supports the biker during both braking and accelerating, and while riding straight as well as while cornering.. but like all safety aids their there to assist should you get it wrong :sweatdrop: and not intended for you to get your self in the  :shit: in the first place  and in which case I don't recommend you test if it saves your  :shit: ter :mfr_lol:
