as my rear is currently out for deep cleaning ( Ohh err Missus ) i thought id put a picture on of wear so far.

The pr3 has just done 3100 miles and is looking fantastic , my previous slip stone was toast after 4.5k.  We always do 2 up touring miles . about 1600 miles were purely motorway and as such there is a very slight squaring of the tyre which you can just feel, that will round off  through the rest of this year with our sunday jaunts, the tyre still looks new

O.C.

good job that man Vipes, I'm assuming that your opinion of the PR3 versus your previous "slipstone" favours the PR3 ?

For sure, im not the kinda guy who can push a tyre so hard that would really notice the different grip levels, but in terms of its mileage potential and its even wear pattern , its a thumbs up, hell it even looks nice

What mm is there left on that PR3?

just measured , dont what it was when new but at 3100 miles in its 6mm at best places and 5mm at worst

Winston Smith

Usually about 7-8mm max when new.

5mm is excellent for the size/weight/power and two up riding.

Pity they aren't recommended for mine

Ha-feckin'-Ha!

Actually, I am going down the PR3 route - Have taken some advice from a tyre expert, and I mean expert, been involved with testing at all levels, and he recommends the PR3's over everything else including OEM for all bikes!

Apparently the new Z8's are supposed to be extremely good too, but I will be mostly trying the PR3's.

Another Michelin advantage is that they are the only truly repairable Sport/Tour tyre as they are Kevlar based not steel belted.

Thanks for all the beta testing of the PR3's anyway you 1400 - ers!

I shall be replacing my PR3's again before the winter sets in .... ... they still have some miles left in them ( 7 1/2 000 now ) but over the last 2 weeks or so the rear has constantly been dropping to 39psi over just 2/3 days .. pump it up again, and down it goes ... cannot find ANY physical injury to the tyre body and have looked at the valve too ... all appears to be ok but the TPS says its dropping and so does the pump. A bit of a mystery. Starting to flatten in the middle too with the commuting but still plenty of spray can be seen in the mirrors when charging home the last couple of days !!

Strange that Rusty....maybe its just buggered,

With that mileage it hasn't done too bad really

I still have the Dunlop Roadsmart 2's in the garage  which I took off the GTR when I got it in March this year. I put the PR3's on and sold the Dunlops to a chap in Scotland. He paid me but still hasn't collected. If I still have them in a few months I might sell them again. Can I do that?   :whistling:
