That's good effort though ... 15K for a front tyre ... my set now have 6000 miles on and although the rear is just starting to square off, and only just I have to say , the front is still like new. 42 Psi for both the rear still has loads to go .........

The front PR3 on mine has done just over 12k miles which I have to say is impressive given the weight and the performance of the bike. I have noticed an un-even wear on the front but the grip is still there but will be looking to replace them very shortly.

The front pr3 finally went after 15k miles. The grip was there until about 13k miles. After that not very confidence inspiring.

Sooooo PR3's...... on the GTR.... NICE!  :gunsmilie:...on my Mates GSXR 750 NICE! (more stability)................ but... and tis a pert and well rounded  :asshole: on Smartys 1250 Bandit utterly horrid  odd yes!
She is like the Bumblebee, she should not fly....... and yet she does!

Funny ya shud say that Mog, but I  had PR2S on my 1250 Bandit and they used to scare the  :shit: out of me everytime I went out, the bike handled like a flock of sheep with those things on, and they always felt like they were going  to let go at any moment and send me crashing to the earths crust. I changed to Conti road attacks and it was a different bike altogether. I know lots on here have very good things to say about PR3s on their GTRs, but when it came time to change from the o e ones on my GTR I fitted Dunlop road smart 2s, and they have been fine. !!!!!!!!!!! Tyres eh ya could talk about em forever :sleep1:

Found a copy of " Fast Bike " in the Dentists waiting room the other day .. think it was Jan 12 issue, .. the author had a long term R6 on trial and was talking about how much cleaning it required due to every day use ... then he said that he had recently put on a set of PR 3's ... can't quote you word for word but he was stunned by the difference it made !

Black Flash

I would agree with everything said on the PR3's. My original B/S squared off at 4,500 miles and became quite dangerous to ride on. Cheers B/F

Boomer

Probably no good on the Bandit due to the budget suspension and/or the geometry.
Little things like a half-degree change in rake can make a huge difference to how a bike feels and handles.
However, on the 1400GTR, (so far!) the PR3 is King.

Bludy ell I only get 2.5 to 3k out of a rear PR2 May have to put the flies back in !!

Rusty

Crikey PG .... you DO need to get those flies back in ... otherwise its going to cost you a fortune in rubber    !!

Hi

I have just changed the front PR3 for another one, the last one managed around 12,500 miles which I think is pretty dam good going - I don't think I have ever managed more than about 10k on any front tyre on any bike. The front had been showing signs of uneven wear  along the circumference of the tyre which was affecting the handling - hence the reason for the change.

I do think the PR3's are excellent in terms of grip and handling in both the wet and dry and as for wear rate/mileage they do seem to beat everything else hands down - particularly given its on a high performance sports/tourer.

I had my PR3's put on last week.. Only done about 50 miles on them so far but have a 300 mile trip planned for this coming Monday whatever the weather providing my guide doesn't wimp out.  :nono:

steve do you know if the dealer needed to remove the hugger to the change your rear tyre, or did it squeeze past?

Dave the tyres went straight on, no dramas at all.

Fitted PR3s the other week, transforms the handling
Had a long weekend away touring Normandy, round trip of 1200 miles, mostly in the rain  could not fault the tyre in any way. Excellent grip all the way
