Thanks Roger .... I shall look them up .. ta.

I had them fitted to my Super Ten, and must say they were superb and good , no, very good in the wet, very quick warm up, sticky in the dry, long lasting, (I had 4000 miles on mine and they looked good for another 10,000) they are also good for lighter off road conditions

BTW I'm not on commission    :mfr_lol:

Just had a pair of PR4's fitted and now rid of the Bridgestones that came on the bike.

I have to say compared to the ST the GTR was great but these PR4's have made it even better! I know  didn't think it was possible.

Much more responsive and as they scrubbed in the confidence grew, the Bridgestones never made me feel that secure.

Looking forward to trying them on wet roads.

You won't be disappointed.  It's witchcraft I tell you! Best tyre I've ever ridden on wet or dry. Best tyre in the wet by a coutry mile!

:agree:
Mine came with a pair of MAXXIS on from DK - scary stuff!  :shit: tyres!
Done 5K on me PR4's now, no issues or worries, quality rubber that suits my riding style.
Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

Not really. A few miles on fresh tyres checking out their sporting prowess is hardly a test of Sport Touring tyres. Look at the pics of the tyres after they've been reviewed ... hardly scrubbed in.

As usual MCN reviewing with a sporting slant when these tyres are purchased for real world everyday use. Mileage, value for money, stability, comfort, resistance to tramlining etc. etc. Not how much of a nanosecond I can chop off a change in direction.

And relax

I had a new VFR800 for the day while my tyres were fitted and the PR4's would be completely different animal on that. beside,  i'm not sure i would notice 90% of the handling detail he does

Got a pair of PR4s fitted yesterday, and did my best to scrub them in this morning.

Completely different feel to the bike compared to the BT023s that were on there. Much smoother roll into and out of corners, is the best way I can describe it.

As for the rest of the real world performance measurements (wet grip, longevity, puncture resistance, etc) well, time will tell.

Cheers

Pireli Angels on mine at the moment and they seem ok. I have always been a fan of the RP3 and latterly the RP4 and the RP4 was going to be my next replacements, however I have been hearing really good things about the new Dunlop Roadsmart 111, so might give them a go next time around.

the RP3 is new to the market and reports suggest that it could be the new tyre of choice,

Not that new surely?.... the RP4 was introduced to supersede the RP3 in the litre and above class bike. The RP4 GT version would be the correct choice for the 1400 GTR providing you are happy with a slightly slower turn in than some of the other brands, In my mind the Dunlop Roadsmart 3 is going to give me a slightly quicker turn in and all the other attributes of longevity and good grip in all conditions, having said that, tyre choice really is a very personal preference choice

typo error on my part it should have been RS3 not RP3  ~ sorry for the confusion

The Dunlop RS3 was introduced in March 2016

Tyre choice is of course a personal preference, reports will always express their own opinion
