Do any of our Autocom users know if it's possible to use the standard boom mike without the standard speaker installation.

I want to use part number 4010 the in ear, ear plugs with part number 2130 the headset extension lead and somehow still be able to connect up the boom mike, is this even possible?

Secondly part number 2130 the headset extension lead has a switch box on it for the speakers to plug into, is this waterproof or should it go under the jacket?

Answers always gratefully received.  :ohplease:

I use an autocom on my bike but don't know the answer, but when i emailed the company called Chainspeed they got back to me within the hour explaining what could be done, i recommend them to everybody i know, and no i don't have any affiliation to them at all.

I use ultimate ears sound ear custom plugs with the autocom adapter lead. works fine. Don't think the lead is waterproof, mine runs inside my jacket. I do still have the autocom speakers installed in my helmet aswell so that i can use the autocom either way depending what i'm doing. Just looked at mine and the 7 pin plug on the speakers/boom is hard wired to the speakers with the boom mic on a connector. no way i can see to connect the boom mike independently of the speakers. Could it be as simple as cutting the speakers off if you never intend using them???????

just had a look at the chainspeed website. looks like part number 2091 is what you want. Headset wiring without speakers, with 3.5mm jack for in ear monitors.

Does the autocom have bluetooth? If so you could consider this..
I have my own in ear phones and use it when using my phone as a sat nav.

Tecstar are now responsible for both Autocom and Starcom, if you contact their technical department I'm sure that they will be able to help if all else fails

I too use a 2091 loom with Ultimate ear speakers.  Works well.

Many, many thanks for all the replies. Looks like part No, 2091 is the way forward then, I wasn't too sure which was the best option. Deb's yes, the autocom is Bluetooth but I need the connection to connect to the Zumo. It will only connect to one device so I understand. Big Al, I bought the Bluetooth module last week, BTM summat or another, it's tiny isn't it?.

The Bluetooth module which is wired into the autocom will be linked to the Zumo and then the phone will be connected to the Zumo.

Al, I'm told you can only connect one device at a time to the BTM but you should be able to connect the phone to the TT and then you will have the ability to receive and make calls etc on the move.

I'm now using this system

Comms with pillion is superb, bluetooth connectivity enables Sat Nav, Mobile phone connection whilst on the move, and MP3 music from Sat Nav or secondary unit....Plus theres no wiring/cabling and no BTM, the audio quality is outstanding.

I can thoroughly recommend it

Now that looks like a plan, i might give that a try over the Christmas period and see.

Thanks
