Has any body took the rear wheel rubbers out ,  I took of the clip that holds it in  but it would not pull out , I am having the wheels painted so bearings and all bits need to come out , it does say that  pulley might be needed to draw the cover out , just wondered if any body had done this before,  thanks,,,,,,, :biker3:

No ,I think the word I should have used is Cush drive rubbers ,   Normally when you take a rear wheel out they are  looking at you , but on the gtr  they are behind  a cover , this is what has to come off to get them out ,',,,,

AH, the rubber damper....best using a bearing puller I guess, not something I have done on the GTR as yet.

You could ask the question on the USA site if you don't get any better replies here.

Rubber damper???

On the rear wheel is the spacer, rubber dust cap, bearing and another spacer as far as I can recall.
And the brake disc

On the side that the splines are on  there is a cover and under that is the Cush drive rubber , take your rear wheel out look at the left side and you can not fail to see , when the bike goes in first gear the clunk would be hell of a lot louder and a lot more slop in the drive without the Cush drive rubbers.  :biker3:

42034.      The Cush  is  in there ,      The difference between the zzr11 and the gtr is that the Cush drive is exposed on the 11 , and the gtr  has a cover over it which is 42034 , you can see. The retaining clip which is like a big circlip  , I have got this off and now need to get the cover off to get the Cush drive rubber out , ,,,,,,,,,, :biker3:

The cover should just pull out. Mine comes out dead easy once the big circlip is removed.
Try tapping it with a rubber mallet. Chances are there is a bit of dirt jamming it in.

I whacked it with a rubber mallet , tried pulling out with a tool I had that pulls things out and it will not move , it says in the manual  to use a puller ,  we shall see .

Be gentle, it's only cast alloy and not that strong.
In 20 years of GTR1000s and 1400GTRs I've never had any difficulty removing the coupling.
Yes, the 1000 is almost identical.

I'll be interested to see how you removed them. Thinking of getting my wheels powder coated as well

Well,   After taking the wheel two 4 car garages 2 motorbike shops. We are still no nearer to getting the cover off , I have managed to get it looser  but it still will not come off , none of the places I took it had a pulley to help get it off , even tried  a engennearing shop , so have ordered a set of 3 pulleys off eBay  for £12, I rang hull kawasaki  , but he was most unhelpful , kept saying our technicians are all busy ,,  I canot believe that no where had a set of small pulleys  I think it only needs a slight pull and it will be off ,    :biker3:
