Hay guys I am new to this bike and to this group. I am on a lovely 2007 gtr 1400 and I am very much in love. However at 6-2 I find that the screen at its highest does not quite push the wind over my head and as a result I find my self subconsciously slouching (resulting in back ache after 5 or so hours). I was wondering if anyone new of any good raised/taller screens. I am not very keen on the viro spoiler system. Thanks in advance

Hi & welcome. I'm not as tall as you admittedly but I use a C-Baileys after market screen. I understand even they come in different sizes so if that's the direction you go in make sure you buy the right one because they aren't cheap.
Just to clarify the screen sizes, the pre 2010 models did have relatively short screens. The 2010 + models had a slightly taller screen than its predecessor but still not tall enough for an average sized person, hence most of us have switched to some form of alternative.
Do your research before you part with the hard earned cash.

Hello Buck ... lots of help and advice on here ... follow the chaps advice .. I believe there are quite a few on here with bigger screens etc ...  :185:

hi and welcome

screens , ive had 3 now , mine is a post 2010 bike but at  6ft 1 found the screen a tad too short.
I had the vario with the built in lip but struggled to feel any difference over the stock screen

last year i changed to a calsi xl, i find this great and almost no buffeting when at high position. when the calsci is fully down its at the same height as when the stock screen is fully up.

if i had to measure the screen effectiveness id say the stock one reduced buffeting by 50% , the vario by 55%  and the calsci by 95%, its wider as well and also has vents in thebottom which stop your body being pulled forward . try and get a 2nd hand one to see what its like, the previous owner of mine hated it !

Some great advice lads thanks. The screen was top of my list of bits to change on my bike

I am 6' 3" and I have a 11 bike with a laminar lip on the top of the standard screen, it works a treat.

:agree: Hi Buck and welcome. I also have a 57 plate and like Viper have a calsi xl which i am very happy with.
Better to be old and grey than the alternative!

Welcome Buck, I'm 6'4" and the CalSci Large I have is slightly too short for me, but I like it that way.
I've tried the Cee Baileys, the V-Stream and the CalSci L & XL and the CalScis are best for smooth air and protection.

I have ordered a custom size from Skidmarx and will report when it arrives, hopefully very soon.
