O.C.

I think its not too bad Debs, however I would insist on an independent engineers full report before committing myself to purchase it, such a report might cost a 'few quid' but could save a helluva lot in the long run

BTW I've allus liked that colour

Careful when buying write off stuff, if you want to keep it for ever, then fine.

You wont get it much cheaper by the time you have repaired it by the looks of it, than buying a decent one.

Selling does become an issue if checks are run on it and also make sure the insurance are told when you insure it, they may not payout if you have a claim.

It is a nice colour though,,,,,

I don't intend to buy it. Too much hassle for me, but wanted to know your opinions

From experience I know there's a minimum £3k damage to the panels alone minimum here. If the lugs of the headlight have broken then add £550 for the light unit. The mirror hasn't broken - the spar mounting both mirrors has snapped and taken the inner fairing liner with it.  Believe me these bikes don't fare well when they go horizontal. My Remus hexacone was unrecognisable as it resembled a chimney. Luckily the boys at Bournemouth sorted me out and the bikes better than before I bought it - shame about the insurance next year!

As for this bike budget for £5k in parts worse case - depends then whether the buyer intends to keep it for a few years in which case the atrocious value it's Cat D status will give it won't be such a turn off. If it could be got for a grand less then its prob a good buy but then again why not buy a cat d direct from the insurers disposers ( Google "blue cycle") for an idea of values and you'll see how much the forecourts rip us off!
