Note to self: Never stop in traffic in Italy, they will run you down.

Stopped in a line of traffic at a traffic circle that's under construction, cars in front of me and cars behind me, hell, even a car to my right and no way to go forward due to the construction. Lady pulled out from a cafe to my left, just behind me and ran into the left bag, knocking me over. I was able to calmly step off the bike as it laid down to nap....so, cool points for that. Turned around and made eye contact with an absolutely petrified woman who looked as though she had just seen a ghost (wearing a florescent orange safety vest, standing over a very large silver motorcycle) appear out of thin air.......magic I tell you. She spoke very good English (probably better than I do) and was truly apologetic. After calming her down considerably, I looked the bike over and noticing no damage, we shook hands and parted ways.

No damage to the bike other than the Canyon Cages, I'll just touch them up myself. So to Ryan at MC Enterprises I say thank you for a job well done on a product that works as intended and advertised.

know what you mean about driving in italy, drove down italy in my car and most of the MW's are 2 lane, they are busy and i was in outside lane overtaking about 50 cars and i had one car actually nudge my rear bumper at 80 mph, that happened 3 times on the route down to ancona, apparantley its the norm to "kiss" the car in front

Excellent result!

However, from what Debs has experienced, it might be worth checking the subframe / attachment points etc.

Riding in Italy certainly has it's challenges....

Riding in Italy may well have its challenges, dare I say it, you've experienced nothing till you've spent a few hours on the roads of Bradford.

i really fancy a set of these but would probably go the adventure bar route, the door to door price of the C cages is a bit expensive , although i do like the design of them

I can't remember which forum I read it on, but someone with the Adventure Bars was just in a similar incident and still had damaged plastic. The Bars are not as robust as the Canyon Cages and in this situation would have bent and minimised damage to the plastic where the Cages did not bend and prevented damage completely.

2 choices ,

adventure bars , £199 on ebay with free postage

canyon cages , order direct from the states, even with a bulk discount i think they were over £300 to your door, factor in postage, import vat and duties .

cant comment on the effectiveness of them, adventure bars are ok to look at, canyon cages look nicer ,  IMO

Or you can order directly from R&G http://www.rg-racing.com/ or get them from any local bike shop that sells R&G products.
They may even put them on for you if you don't have the right tools.
The later you brake the longer you go fast.
