And another copper totally alienated against motorcyclists now.  He'll NEVER forget all this any any biker within his sights will be pulled, now, for whatever reason.

Debs... when I've been involved in Toy runs we  ( bike cops) have always 'taken the junctions' and stopped traffic, then handed over to one of the marshals to hold the position.

Unless you are  a cop you won't have authority to stop a vehicle..... I would be surprised if the local police told you that your marshals could indeed stop traffic  :undecided:

That is very poor ... Everything he does is wrong ... not going into massive detail as everyone here can see that is the case ... Stops everyone on a bend, no hat on, no high viz, points at people and wags his finger at bikers who clearly can't hear what he is shouting at them. Basics, and he has made a right fool of himself, his colleagues and the job as a whole. Cringeworthy.

Whinny is right 100% .... The only people who have authority to stop traffic are constables in uniform or officers appointed by the COP .. Ie what used to be traffic wardens.
I know what you are saying Debs, and is no different to the builder who stops traffic when his mate is reversing a big lorry out onto the road .... If it all goes wrong some one will sue your arse for every penny you have. You have no lawful powers to stop traffic, marshals, helpers in reflective bibs, I know everyone wants to help and is doing their best and 99.9% of the time there are no problems but when it goes wrong ......

Im a member of a military vehicle club and when we do parades we just park a armoured truck in the road. No problem. Trafic stops and our parade can pass.  But sure not evryone have one.  :tank:

Shouldn't he be wearing hi-vis whilst standing in the road, as well as his hat?  Seems to me was angry and health & safety was the last thing on his mind. Not a very professional image.

Yesterday I called Dorset Constabulary and reported the incident to their enquiry centre. They told me the incident had been reported more than once and that it was in hand. I left them in no doubt that I would be watching developments.

I personally ride across Dorset twice a week and traffic policing is a joke. Wonder what MAG would make of this ?
