Just undid the screw and hooked it out, with a bit of a twist and a yank at the same time with my fingers. Was a bit of a tight fit but once I got it started it slid out a treat.

Keith its the inner part you need trying to pull out, the outer ring is part of the main exhaust body and stays in place.

I fancy having a go at making her a duel exhaust bike. Is it as simple as getting the headers off an 08 ZZR1400, my GTR been a A8F model and a left hand ZZR1400 Scorpion
can???? Or is that too easy????

thanks for the picture ,that may make it a bit easier for me i may have been pulling on the outer ring, dont know about changing your pipes ,sure someone will come along with more knowledge, but if not contact a dealer, you should be able to get the headers off e bay, they would  clean up nicely when they are off the bike,i found the cheapest place for the scorpions was click parts on e bay ,(they will negotiate,)they were cheaper than scorpion direct by £70.00.the gtr would look a lot better with twin cans, dont no if there are any issues routing the nearside pipe as i aint got a gtr now, unfortunatley i havent won the lottery and cant afford two bikes ,unlike someone else who frequents this and other sites!!!!good luck if you sort it please post. some pics

well i never undid the fixing bolt, nipped the inner ring with a pair of long nosed mole grips, pulled on the grips and gave them a tap with a hammer at the same time, no problem, i dont know what all the fuss was about!!, they are louder but not a great deal at least other road users will be more aware i am there now, i will run with them out for a while and see what it is like, hopefuly going out for a ride now before the rain starts, thanks again for the picture,

You can use the ZZR1400 headers apart from 2 problems.
There are no Cats or Lambda sensors in those so you will need Lambda Sensor Eliminators (available on Ebay).
You will need to modify the centrestand and make your own bracket to hold the left silencer.
Otherwise yer good to go.
Join the COG-ONLINE forum. Lots of Norte Americano riders have done this on theirs.

Finally, if they ever introduce emissions testing for the GTR you will need to put the old headers back on.
