Off to Switzerland on Monday for the annual Tourer Test

Let's see how the big six fair against each other this year?!

This year we will be pitting the 1400GTR - K1600GT - R1200RT - ST1300 - FJR1300 - Triumph Trophy 1200 against one another.

Will let you know my thoughts when I get back!
Four is fun.  Six is sex.

What do you expect since most likely the whole show is sponsored by BMW?
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

Isn't bike magazine a sister to MCN, They are so BMW / Triumph bias, my Guess is Equal 1st -2x BMW - Triumph,( The conclusion will be not a lot to choose between them ) 2nd GTR, 3rd FJR, Last Pan. i suppose it could also come down to price.

I would love to be proved wrong and made to eat my words, but i can't see it, ( pigs will fly and the Pope will get married first)

Have a good time winnie you Jammy g1t.
get a grip and deal with it

Well it isn't Bike mag I am with, it's RiDE!

As for 'sponsored by BMW' - please get a life, the testing is done with independent riders (i.e. the likes of me) and is based on what the bikes are like in comparison to one another with all the riders doing equal mileage on each machine on all kinds of road from motorway to mountain pass.

I love the 1400GTR but was so blown away by the K16 last time that I spent £18700.00 of my own money on one, no bias, I put my money where my mouth is.

If you think the articles are contrived then you are small minded - they are done in quite a scientific and transparent way

But hey....some people know more than those that are involved

Now, Now, Winnie dont spit the dummy out, lets wait and see. Been reading bias crap for too many years, regardless who is doing the testing. If i am wrong you can then delight in verbally ripping me to bits.  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

RiDE has always been fair in their assessments in my opinion.
Yes BIKE does seem to have an ongoing love affair with BMW marketing money and MCN wants to have Triumphs babies but RiDE was always about real world tests and not just a marketing exercise.
I've been a BIKE subscriber since forever (30+ years) and I am considering stopping the sub.
The magazine just doesn't do it for me any more.
Ogri has gone and the bias in their tests is so obvious these days it's almost pathetic.
They weren't even this obvious during their early to mid 80s Kawasaki obsession era (back when K were spending money on Marketing).

Winny, have fun in the sun and let us know when the test is gonna appear in RiDE.
I need a new cover for my dartboard.  :mfr_lol:

I'm not biased much!  Cut me and I bleed green.

Just writing about my first ever on bike test for Bike Magazine..... (not the GTR though).
