Chopped in my Stelvio in 2017. One of my better decisions (although I still have a 1100 Sport and am on the hunt for a Centuro) I think we may be going as far as Morecombe this year.
This was us in 2018, Calais to Travemund to Helsikni to Norcapp to Kristiansand and back via Denmark.

Deleted for you as requested.

I hear Morecambe is good at this time of the year.  :mfr_lol:

O.C.

there are some who would argue that Morecambe isn't that good at any time of year  :mfr_lol:

We'll find out next weekend, close to the Yorkshire Dales and of course Sunday @ Kirby Lonsdale. Fingers crossed, on the plus side no bloody tolls getting there like the Italian Lakes last year.

I was being facetious Ray.... I lived just outside Grange-over-Sands, (which is on the opposite shore of the Morecanbe estuary) for 10 years  and the whole area is very pretty, a one day visit doesn't do justice but you will enjoy your time there, I hope that it isn't too busy with traffic.

This pic was taken of my 2010 GTR1400 in 2011 on my Belgium/Germany/France and Italy trip  the pic was taken at Lake Garda  As far as I'm concerned the GTR1400 was one of the best touring bikes produced for comfort.. it had more than enough power to put a  on yea face.. and for a big bike it handled quite good.

Owned it for 3 years and covered 10,000 miles touring Europe/Cornwall/Scotland and of course the Lower load inn gtr1400 meet   at the time I also owned a 2008 df8 ZZR1400 in atomic silver which I also toured Europe on in 2009 as I'm a short Arse I found the ZZR1400 to be just as comfortable/quicker and did prefer the ZZR to GTR so much so... had 4 ZZR 1400's over the years as could not find a suitable replacement :nono: until kawasaki introduced the H2 sx se  simular power to the ZZR but it's the way the power is produced and is more comfortable for touring with sharper more precise handling with the added bonus of cruise control/heated grips/panniers/cornering A.B.S/cornering lights/quickshifter/Launch control/full colour multi function T.F.T screen and of course that Super charger which when your reach 4,000 revs it's warp time :sweatdrop:
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

You were right OC, Morecambe is a rather sad place. 15 mins away however there are some lovely roads. Kirkby Lonsdale doesn't welcome bikes anymore but Hawes was packed with bikes.
We stayed at the Midland Hotel, don't bother massively overpriced and a bit run down. There's a nice Best Western there if you're staying up there.

Since when?

I was there yesterday afternoon on my way back from the Forest of Bowland and I had to park in the overflow carpark it was that rammed with bikes and that was on a Friday.

O.C.

Kirkby Lonsdale has been a regularand popular meeting place forbikers for more years than Ican remember, there are signs there that prohibit cars from parking at weekends and Bank Holidays.

The chap who runs the burger stand would definitely have something to say if bikes were no longer welcome there!

The 2 burger stalls were on the outskirts, there wasn't a single bike in the town itself.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't any bikes at Devils Bridge which is on the outskirts (1-2 miles on the A65) of Kirkby Lonsdale, it is a hugely popular meeting place for bikes and has been for many years
