I stayed there last year for the 40th anniversary meet for the Z1.
In case you did not realise, you will be walking distance from the Eder Dam, and this year is the 70th anniversary of the Dambusters raid on the Mohne,Eder and Sorpe dams in WW2.

In the village of Eder is a small museum just for the raid. It surprised me with it's total neutrality over the attack, featuring both sides with equal dignity. From the village it is a short walk, about 20 minutes, up to the dam itself, which still bears the scars of the attack and the subsequent repair.

Museum location here

Are you camping on site, or B&B in village?
Village has  a couple of shops, cafe, bank etc etc. Plenty of cafes and similar up by the dam.
If you are camping, the onsite cafe is pretty good, onsite mobile food stands were good, and last year the portable shower and toilet blocks were very clean. Proper flushing toilets, and staff outside making sure they are kept clean and dry, and resupplied with soap, paper etc.

Definitely Bastogne. They have a Sherman parked in the town square and big memorial and museum about the Battle of the Bulge to the north-east of the town.

For somewhat older history, the site of the Battle of Waterloo (1815) is quite interesting.
About 15 miles south of the centre of Brussels just outside the Ring road.
Moderately interesting museums, a big mound with a Lion on top, but the whole thing has a disappointing bias towards Napoleon, who was defeated.
The Wellington museum in the centre of Waterloo (opposite the church) is a better museum, but the battle field & Lion are worth a visit.

Think I met one of your party this morning at Folkstone at the services there just before the channel tunnel.  I was on th 11 plate black GTR just on my way home from Imola having a spot of lunch outside Subway.

Hope you have a great week as I did and the rain had cleared in France when you got there.  It lashed down between Reims and Calias this morning and boy after complaining about the large fairing and screen in the Italian heat how glad was I off it in the rain.

Like I said have fun and ride safe.
