Wait until someone gets stung by it and then see what the courts say.
None of these clauses are worth the paper they are written on UNTIL a court has ruled on it.
Personally, I would say that most Judges would throw that one out as the clause makes it impossible for the bike to be insured against theft in normal use.

A friend had his bike nicked when he got off the bike to open the gates at the bottom of his drive.
Tealeaf was waiting hidden in a bush, with his lid on, jumped on and rode off before my mate could do anything.
Luckily the whole thing was caught on CCTV or the insurers may never have believed him.

Must have been a very expensive and sought after bike and a very determined thief indeed.
It must have been well planned and they must have observed your mate for quite some time to figure that one out.

Sorry, but I find it hard to believe that a would be bike thief would spend hours, days or even weeks hidden in the bushes outside somebody's house with his lid on patiently waiting for the owner of a bike to get off to open the gate on his drive.  :ohplease:
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

O.C.

I reckon that insurance companies are more than happy to relieve you of the premium, but are less than happy when faced with the reality that they have to accept some degree of risk, and may have to pay out.

Maybe I'm just cynical
BE KIND...

Believe what you like Mecki. I've seen the video. And yes the bike was worth a bit and no they never caught the thief or found the bike.
Personally I think it was ridden straight into a container and then shipped overseas.
You would be very surprised what these thieves will do when they have a shopping list of bikes to fill.

In the last two weeks at work we have seen a dramatic increase in the theft of bikes, everything from scooters to sports bikes, they are very rarely ever seen again.

A sure sign that spring is finally here.
