Hi Guys...

Novice in this Forum... There was a Coocase 48L box installed by the previous owner (I brought it 2nd Hand). It shake and vibrate badly at high speed (above 120km/hr). Causing much discomfort to my wife.

I went to my friend, a Blacksmith by trade to brainstorm how could we solve this issue... as I have intention to mount a bigger Kappa 52L box as a replacement.. .

So here's what we did... or rather he.. did...  It's crude... back yard engineering but it works...

Stoner aka Gerald

Bike with the original Coocase 48L mounted. The previous owner had it mounted directly onto the Rubber Rack of the GTR.

Up close picture of the original mounting... of the Coocase 48L

Removing and discarding the original *Rubber Mount. Bye Bye Rubber Mount!

Here's the problem... There's a recession between the two rear handle bars... thus unable to mount the GIVI/Kappa plate directly onto it... A custom made "Spacer" is required

A thick (appox 12mm) Acrylic Chopping Broad is cut and measured to fit into the recession...

Three holes pre-drilled on the "Chopping Board". This in return acts as a replacement spacer between the GIVI Cast Iron Mounting plate and the GTR's Rear handle bar.

Three steel screws to secure the GIVI mounting plate instead of 1 on each side...

Final product... yes.. it's crude.. but it works wonderfully! Top box feels very stable even fully loaded.

Yes... Indeed it is... Went well above 240km/hr without any issues... Had since fitted LED Running light in the Top Box itself...
