Blew a few cobwebs off today and took the bike on a short ride. Only did about 60 miles but went out into North Yorkshire & upto Pately Bridge and Brimham Rocks before returning home via Otley. I always feel a bit rusty when I haven't used the bike for a while, so it does me good I feel to get a few short rides in and settle back into using two wheels.

I thought I'd better start riding again after the winter break and build up my stamina and confidence for some longer trips I have planned throughout the year. As usual I took a few pics on route to share with you all.

This ones just outside Otley where they used to do some filming for Heartbeat many years ago. One of the many reservoirs in the area.

A few cows eyeing up the GTR.

Carrying on from Otley towards Patley Bridge there is a road side tea and coffe shop with vistors centre. I didnt bother going in but it looked a bit like a museum for some antiquated artifacts from yesteryear.

An old set of bellows.

Just outside Pately Bridge a very trusting seller, in some areas the eggs would be nicked along with the table!

You cant beat free range chucks.

Plenty of empty, traffic free roads.

On towards Brimham Rocks, which is owned by the National Trust.

Heading back in towards Otley From Brimham Rocks I came across this interesting feature in a wall.

Thats it, short and sweet, just to wet my appetite for another ride when the weather picks up.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Nice as usual Mr Wolf ... is the sat nav bracket one from Kawasaki or your own ? Looks like the position of it is spot on.

Lonewolf

I bought it from here...

Definately not cheap, but its spot on. It comes with all the fixings you need, straight out of the box. There's a couple on ebay at the moment,

Cant vouch for the quality of those on ebay but the techmount one is sound.

I've got the standard Kwak one - only issue I had was that I felt it needed to be on a longer extension.  I just cut a couple of pieces of metal and extended it.  Standard works OK, just on the 09 model stops the ash-tray fully opening. (Wouldn't be an issue on the 10 model)

Four is fun.  Six is sex.

I Dream of a World where Chickens can Cross the Road without having their Motives Questioned

Rusty

Thanks chaps ... One imagines you can wire it in for non stop power on the move ??

Winston Smith

Yup - just wires into the connectors provided by Mr K!

Goes on/off with ignition (Zumo 660 asks if you wish to stay on for 25 seconds after ignition off)

+1 Lord Rusty as above yep, very simple process to connect it up. Under the left fairing cover to the front there is a rubber boot with an accessory lead, it just connects upto that. My Zumo 550 obviously has the same feature as the 660. When you turn the ignition off, it asks you if you want to run on battery power, you can either click yes/no or just let it time out.

Dont let the dealer (assuming you ever get a GTR) ;) splice a power connection into any other wires, totally unnecessary.
