i think we should all CHECK OUR NUT'S,I went to attach a trickle charger lead on the battery ternimal's to FIND THEM BOTH NOT EVEN FINGER TIGHT,absolutely disgusted to find them like that & i'll let the DEALER KNOW ABOUT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :taz: :taz: :taz:

viper

maybe they loosened with vibration, i dont think battery terminals is a specific on any service schedule ????

tapps

if they were done up TIGHT,i cant imagine VIBRATION causing it,i may be wrong, still gonna let them know about it.

viper

vibration causes the header bolts to loosen , the engine mounting bolts to loosen, just a thought, probably were loose

Funny you should bring this up. I attached a charger lead to my battery 2 days ago and the Positive lead on mine was loose too.  Had the same problem on my old 2009 bike.

Not heard of the header bolts coming loose though, may have to check these out too.

Your problem is with the dealer, the bike arrives in this country with the battery disconnected, and is then fitted at pdi stage by the supplying dealer  :hammer: :2guns: On this issue the big K are innocent .
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

a loose battery wires can lead to heat in the wires and electrical malfunction

dokterdave

Mine was installed backwards
That is
Negative toward the outside of the bike.

thread locker fluid is the best to prevent vibration loosening bolts and nuts.
but you have to use it on the parts that you don't want to open regularly

Mate ... why are you "absolutely disgusted" that the nuts are loose ? That must just be bike movement and vibration working them loose ... a dealer isn't going to check them as part of any service and when you tell Alfs about it he'll go " Oh well they do work loose sometimes we'll check on it next time " ... smile .....
PS ... how is the solar charger going ?
