Hi, do these kit just plug into the existing wire loom or is a bit of cutting and soldering required?

They fit straight on to the plug that is there. You only need one extra live wire run from the battery which was easy to feed through without taking the fairing off.

Is there a particular type or model of HID lamps to buy for the GTR ? How much would one be looking at investing?

Has it really made a big difference for you?

So does the HID kit just plug into the existing head light plugs? suppose i could just buy a kit and read the instructions

This is the item I bought, very easy to fit.

You need a H4 Hi/Lo beam kit.

The one above works great.
