Hi everyone.  I've taken the plunge and tomorrow I'll hand over my GSXR750 and collect a 2010 GTR in mag bronze.

I'm looking forward to more comfortable riding than I'm used to with my first trip being a 280 mile ride to Redcar and back striaght from the dealers.

I'll no doubt have lots of questions following my first ride but does anyone have any tips that may be useful for my first ride tomorrow night.
Cheers

Yo pie man, Welcome to the funny farm. I'm sure you have picked the right place to be as a GTR owner, lots of help, and assistance if needed. And a fair ( erm, no some times it's not fair) bit of banter thrown in as well. The GTR will probably feel like a whale after riding your slim, lithe, light, crotch rocket, but hey these things can boogie a bit  as well. Enjoy the forum, and the bike. Oh and we need to know which part of the country you live, as taking the p--- out of other peoples location is par for the course. I do hope that you are a Northern numpty, and not a shandy drinking, dont ride my bike in the rain, nancy boy, from beyond Birmingham :whistling:. Please feel free to inform us on where you bought the bike from. :185:.   cheers Geoff

welcome pie scoffer, you're in good company here  :mfr_lol:....

You will love the GTR and once you get used to it you will find that it will 'deal with' toys like the Gixer and take them in its stride  OH yes  really !!!

This forum is a friendly place with good humour and loads of information so don't be backward at coming forward...fire away with yer questions, no one will laugh at you  :mfr_lol:

thanks for the welcome.  Looking forward to the ride tomorrow. Riding in the dark will be totally new for me as the Suzuki lights are useless.

For what its worth I'm from Bolton in the beautiful north west but for the last 14 years I've lived in Mansfield not far from sherwood forest which is great.  Work which pays for the fun I have is in Grantham so a decent trip on the bike when the weather is good.

Its been a good week so far. Passed IAM Advanced test yesterday and getting new bike tomorrow.

I havent forsaken the superbikes as I've still got a GSXR1000

Better to be old and grey than the alternative!

Pie man, One tip for you. Dont forget the ECO button It's on the front of the left h/bar cluster, just press it for between 1 and 3 second, dash will tell you when it is activated. Better economy, and still loads of grunt. Hope you have a great day.                     P S   If you turn ignition off you need to re-press switch.

Pie man, excellent to hear of another Northerner and further excellent news to hear that you have bought the magnesium one, (without a doubt the best colour)!  :whistling:

When you pick the bike up make sure it comes with a handbook, if not twist the sellers arm to order you one, after all youv'e just spent a few quid with them, it's the least they can do.
Congratulations and hope to see you around.  :biker3:
