Just to wind up those who hate the corporate side of The Olympics and the money makers .... I was at Horse Guards last night chatting to a lady who assists in running the entertainment side of things ... as you know you can't take in any food or drink to any venue .. yes you have to buy it there on site thus maximising their profits .... a burger in a roll £9, a small bar of Choccy £1.50, 500ml bottle of water £3.00... now get this ... The Champagne Tent .. taking £35,000 a DAY and the beer tent ? .... a staggering £85,000 a DAY !
That is massive !
"And as the weather is staying warm and sunny expect the sales to go up" she said with a smile and trotted off into the crowd .............

Ah yes... I'm surprised that Lord Coe can walk upright anymore, his pockets must so very full......  :hammer:
She is like the Bumblebee, she should not fly....... and yet she does!

Thats not entirely correct about not being able to take food etc in   , true you cant take liquids in but you can take empty bottles in and water is provided FREE of charge for you to fill up inside also you are allowed to take as much food as you wish ( as i did)   ....... now for the prices inside the olympice village . yes  :agree: they are expensive  but no more so than any other type of sporting event or even the bigger bike rallies, ...... fish and chips were £8.50 , pasties were £5 , 2 piece fried chicken with coleslaw £6.50 .

You'd think by now we'd be expert at taking penalties. I don't know what that last penalty taker was thinking.

Anyway, thought I'd checkout what athletic facilities were on offer locally. Not even worth mentioning. It really seems a lottery as to what you get.

My eldest will be going to the boxing gym anyway. Next heavyweight champion in the making. Just gotta stop him whinging  :mfr_lol:

Routing for Murray today and then glued to the telly for 100m.

I might even get off my lazy ass and get back into training. At one point I was going to become a part time spinning instructor (just to keep in shape)

Indeed!! let the Olympics be an inspiration to the lot of you.... The easiest way to go quicker. get the bike to handle better and feel fresher after a days touring..... is to loose some flab and get fitter  .....

I love watching the racing at the velodrome, (the Pringle as its become known) whether its a team event or single riders, its just fantastic, and made all the better by the fact that team GB just gets better and better, and wins more and more medals, in fact 6 medals so far in cycling alone

Bring it on ...cummon team GB ...make 'em av it
