Does anyone recognise a green GTR originally from George Whites at Swindon WN61AGV  :ohplease:?  Thinking of buying it but the 600 mile service looks a bit dodgy to me.  (No offence intended :ohplease: if you previously owned it)

What do you mean dodgy?.  A nd how many miles has it done now?.
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

The service book says its been serviced at 638 (no stamp available) and signed by D Weis.  It's now done 3700 miles.

Ah, ha, nice one. Women they always succumb to common sense and reasoning.  :whistling: Is this an additional one for your good lady to use or an upgrade for you?

Sorry, I cant answer your actual question.

I'll be trading mine for it. She talks a good job and had a cbr 600 but the GTR is a totally different ball game. Credit to debs though.

The service may well have been carried out, but Kawasaki UK will say it has not.
For it to qualify, it needs to have been with genuine Kawasaki parts, by a VAT registered mechanic and the service book stamped with the servicing dealer/mechanic details.

Cheers Doebag.  It's lacking the stamp then.  George Whites have now gone under so I've no chance of retrospectively getting one. :shit:

Is there a central computer system with Kawasaki which allows any Kawasaki Dealer to access the service history of the bike? If there is then theres no need for a stamp but no reason either why another dealer cant update the book for you.

I would contact them directly on 01628 856750 or email [email protected].

Hope you get a response.

If its been done by someone else then you go no chance at finding any info.

ive seen a lot of banter on forums about owners doing the first service themselves, now that its not free, ignorant owners believe the first service is just an oil change and be-grudge paying for it.  what was the prev owners initials ?

maybe ask kawasaki directly of this would effect a warranty claim. The fact that the first service was just an oil change by non kawasaki  wont actually make any difference,

thing is you aint never gonna know if the final drive oil was changed as it should be

I bought my GTR at 1500 months old with 1050 miles on the clock from a Honda Dealer. The 600 mile service had not been documented so the dealer carried out the service and changed the final drive oil and this was documented. When the bike first went to a Kawasaki Dealer for its 4000 mile service it was a little over due but I had no problem in Kawasaki extending the warranty.

Patrick you bought a 1500 month old GTR? Why?

That would make it 125 years old. Didnt know they were making GTR's back in 1887  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

O.C.

RR if the first service was carried out by a "competent" person then I can't see that there should be any problem with the bike

Ask the dealer selling the bike to give it a pre-sale service and to stamp the book.

Thanks for your comments and advise.  Viper, can't remember the previous owner on the V5 but do remember it was a strange name that started with Z I think. All the more strange! I've emailed Kawa UK.

Andy the most important thing on the 600 miles service is fresh oil and filter and shaft oil change. everything else is just a check over, which you do yourself everytime you ride the bike. you would know if there was something wrong..! I can't see anyone paying £13,000 plus for a gtr then not bothering to spend £30.00 on oil and a filter and £7.00 on enough gl5 gear oil to do approx 8 shaft oil changes. it may not have a stamp in the book. but I would very much doubt it, if the first oil & filter and shaft oil was not done around the 600 mile mark.
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff
