So there was i with not a lot to do so decided to check Viper style on my little round bobbin type things on the front disks to see if they turned as they should, after all i have had one set of new disks, so i get a nice new 10mm allen key which fits snug and give them a little spray with brake cleaner and sure enough every one turned nice and easy, so now i am a smug git.

Until that is i look at the black tin of brake cleaner and realise its not what i thought it was, its a tin of that CF50 (whatever it is) preventer stuff which should not be sprayed onto brake pads, OOPS.

So i get the correct tin and check it is what it says and thouroughly clean my disks inside and out, liberally spraying the stuff and cleaning with a cloth, luckily i only put a small squirt of stuff on each of the bobbin things and not merrily spray everything.

Today using the bike all is well.

This will teach me to check  the tin first.

Your black one will go even faster now - and your disks will not go rusty! That stuff is expensive. I have a can of it but never used it on the Tigers. Is it as good as they say it is ? If so I may coat the motor below the belly pan to protect against the winter miles.

you clot  :mfr_lol:   still, no harm done and nice clean brakes too

"You Clot" !!!   :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: My father used to say that ! Brilliant !

TT ? .. Yes ACF50 is great stuff for the winter and indeed all year round ... I am off to work soon and looking out the window I am glad I gave the Gtr a liberal spraying last night ... just the underside and metalwork .. it really does help ... especially through those winter months or cold and salty roads ...

How about spraying some ACF50 onto a toothbrush and then applying it? That shouldn't run

if you have to use oil, then use the 3 in one and you can control one drop just in the right place, with the bobbin at the 12 oclock position none will run onto the rotor  surface.  although you should never use oil near braking surfaces , its your risk, i used one drop and mine are ok, but yours may not be
