When I pulled the rubber cover off to look, it was full of water, not very good.

Hans

Let it dry out... contact spray... then silicone spray... then you're good to go!

Optimate 111  At the other end of that are the metal eyelets that connect to the battery.
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

What for?  The lead you have has the connector to attach to the charger.  The charger has it's opposite connector to mate with the one attached.  The one you have has it's waterproof cover which has probably not been fastened properly or closed after getting wet. Mine has never had water ingress

Winston, the lead is attached to the bike when I bought it. My charger is a different make so plug is not the same. So I need to change plug on charger, a lot cheaper then replacing a charger. My old lead has corrosion on it so not going to re use it so going to replace the charger plug and leave the optimate one on.
