I said about a week ago I was breaking away from franchised servicing, even though the bike is only 16 months old, and has another 6 months warranty left. I felt the service costs were really high and the 3500 service intervals unnecessary.
Well today I went back to a local bike garage who has looked after mine and other bikes for years. A full service and valve shims done for £180 and the bike felt so much better than when I have had it done at the franchised dealer. Also I have been told it should be possible to break the 3500 intervals and was advised to bring it back once it had completed another 5000 miles. Book stamped and well pleased.

I'm sure that you are not alone in your decision to get your bike serviced by a non Franchised outlet Rippers....and frankly who could blame you

So many stories have been aired on here and elsewhere about the crap service provided by some dealers....when will they wake up and smell the coffee. There is a choice out there and it includes plenty of 'non-franchised' dealers who, to be brutally honest, are very capable of servicing/repairing your machine to a very high standard.

And after all, your bikes warranty can be maintained by ensuring that it is serviced by a "competent person" ....QED
BE KIND...
