I actually like the FJR. I sat on the 2010 model and could see myself riding one. However, the GTR feels more like a touring bike to me.

That's one of my first feelings on the GTR ...I feel like Im sat on a Pan...where as the FJR do look much more like a Motor Bike when your sat on it. Not so wide. GTRs Mirrors stick  out long way. Not that that's a bad thing as vision is good on the GTR. But do feel like Im sat in a Cockpit. Dash is good though. Good info on board Rocket ship...Distance remaining , AVG fuel etc. I like that.

You'll have formed your own opinion now but we have both - a 2005 FJR and a 2010 GTR (a 2008 GTR prior to that on which we did just over 32k miles on in two years). I prefer the GTR - more comfortable, more room, more toys, better performance and handling (although I might have to revisit that last comment having had an Ohlins rear shock fitted to the FJR and the suspension set up by MCT; it is vastly improved).

Yes I am liking...the handling thus far am impressed with. I took it around one of my Favorite bends the other day. It's where you come off the M5 at Exeter onto the A30. Felt very stable & quick with it. Rode back from Plymouth yesterday afternoon Via Tavistock Hatherleigh to home. If you know the area , you will know that's quite a testing road for a bike. Rain soaked roads, but still handled well, felt very confident on it. Has twitched few times on back end. One was on Rabout , could been bit of oil or Diesel on road.
Say took it on M way too , & certainly feels could sit on it for long spells. It does not seem to pull like the FJR did from high gears. You know short shift & torque away. But the OD 6th gear on M way good. That was one thing nearly all FJR owners wanted an Extra gear.
Only thing is I have got my foot a bit caught up a couple times when coming to a stop , it's my problem not the Bikes... I go to put foot down & my ankle catches some where...Nearly had me over sat morning in Traffic going into Plymouth. Pos trying to put foot down to quick , rather than let bike totally stop , then cock foot out.
