The purpose of this thread is to log the common issues with the GTR. We intend to take this to Kawasaki so they can take action to remedy the issues.

Please only post the template below in this thread. This thread isn't for discussion of the issues and any such posts will be deleted (feel free to start a new thread on your specific issue).

See this thread to work out your model.
Note that the year doesn't necessary indicate the model. You could buy a 2011 model as 2012 registered bike. The colour is a good indication of what the model is.

Here is my 'list' of issues that have either been fixed under warranty, or I have asked to be fixed under warranty and declined/rejected. Not sure if you were just wanting brake related items Asif, feel free to delete if you were.

Model: CAF
Year: 2010
Colour: Magnesium Grey
Where purchased: Bristol Kawasaki
Mileage: 13,878 (August 2011)
Under warranty: No, claim not presented to Kawasaki.
Problem description: Left hand frame section - paint worn away where heel rubs against the frame.
Dealer response: Cosmetic issue, not a warranty issue so no warranty claim presented to Kawasaki.
Dealer name: Bristol Kawasaki
Cost of repair: None - no attempt made to fix.
Other notes: This issue disappoints me, but I do understand that the warranty covers manufacturing defects, not essentially poor design and material choice. No challenge from me.

Model: CAF
Year: 2010
Colour: Magnesium Grey
Where purchased: Bristol Kawasaki
Mileage: 22,500 (February 2012)
Under warranty: No
Problem description: Both front brake disks worn below lower wear limit - measured at 4.35mm one side, 4.4mm the other side.
Dealer response: Fair wear and tear, no warranty claim presented to Kawasaki.
Dealer name: Bristol Kawasaki
Cost of repair: None - warranty
Other notes: This issue has really tarnished my perception of the Kawasaki brand. I do not believe that 2 sets of brake pads, and one set of brake disks is acceptable in only 22,500 miles, but I have no position to argue from. I will be looking to aftermarket parts when I replace.

Model: CAF

Dealer response: Dealer and Kawasaki were excellent once again. Second replacement shock fitted under warranty.
Dealer name: Bristol Kawasaki
Cost of repair: None
Other notes:

What I am looking for is enough info to approach Kawasaki UK with. I will contact them when there is a dozen or so issues recorded, but I want to go in with a positive view that we are helping Kawasaki rather than just having a moan. The kind of issues I think they may be interested in are genuine faults that may be developing into a trend and dealer reaction/ service. Obviously we would not want to report a breakage through someone's clumsiness or accident.
I will write to Kawasaki when I return from Scotland in 2 weeks, and post their answer here. In the meantime pray for some good weather for me please.

They argue fair wear and tear.  I do not believe that a set of brake disks is acceptable in only 16000 miles, but I have no position to argue from. I will be looking to aftermarket parts when I replace. The pad number was changed for 2012 models which suggests to me that they know there is a problem
