everytime i apply the front brake there is a squeal,i was near my dealers yesterday & asked if they had an idea of what was causing this & could they look at it for me,they never had time to take the pad's out, they wiped the disc's with what i guess what brake cleaner & got an air line to the pad's,it was ok for about 20 mile's then it started again,i'm tempted to take the pad's out & have a look myself,is it a straight forward job to get the pad's out,i wish there was a HAYNE'S MANUAL for the GTR it would make life alot easier.

O.C.

Its not uncommon for this to occur...mine does it from time to time....IMHO I think Haynes manuals are best used for packing a wonky table leg  :mfr_lol: [/b]

Remove brake pads, light coating of grease on the *back* of the pads, back in and voila.

Have you had your pads changed recently? Mine squealed like a git after my dealer changed them and put no grease on the pad backs.

+1 on the grease. You might want to put it where the pins go as well

my '10 gtr  started brake squeel at 50 miles from new, asked dealer to sort on first service , which he did , only for brakes to start squeeling some 100 miles later. I took out pads, easy peasy and put some copper grease on the back of the pads and its never squeeked since ( 4k miles now )

tapps

cheer's viper,i have a tub of copper grease in my garage,i'll give it a go.

O.C.

without stating the obvious, make sure your hands are clean and don't get any on the pad surface...

I'm not being a smart arse but its important to be cautious

Its the picture that is the important part. It shows the what you need to grease.
