I'm on my hols in north Wales at the moment and the wife and I went to Betwys y Coed today, you know the place where many of us almost got drowned last August bank holiday at our inaugral GTR meet.
Twenty seven guys turn up on Harley Davidsons and just abandon their lids and jackets left draped over the bikes as they walk off to a cafe!
Is this a Harley Davidson thing, i.e. nobody touches their gear because they're HD riders so they must be Hells Angels or something or what? What's the crack here? I wouldn't leave my gear like they left theirs, some twat would walk off with it if I did it!

By the way if anyone wants any new gear I've just come into possession of a lot of lids and jackets, ask no questions, I'll tell no lies..... :whistling:

Shoulda taken a 'dump' in one of the helmets and watched the reaction when they returned  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Coming back from Snetterton yesterday, I overtook a Harley that had not only the entire H.D catalogue of tasteless american shite attached to it, it also had the longest handlebar tassels I have ever seen.  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

In Europe it is fairly common for bikers to leave their kit on their bikes when they park up and no they aren't HD riders either.
In the UK I have left my lid on the bike while going for a coffee but I usually have sight of the bike

I wouldn't leave ANYTHING on my bike ! It would be gone with great swiftness !

When I first started riding I used to leave my keys in my bike.

A friend of mine used to do that.
But then it was a Greaves 350 and if you didn't get the advance/retard and throttle levers just right, then the kick start would either throw you over the nearest fence or shatter your shin bones into little pieces.
Only time anyone ever touched the keys was one night when we nicked them for a laugh.
He had the last laugh though as he started it with a screwdriver and rode home.  :biker3:

Only one time:  I left a newish pair of Alpinstars (top end) gloves on the saddle while I went to prepay for "gas" in Florida (Jan 2011).  In that few moments they were nicked.  Still in denial; using winter gloves ever since. I don't believe it was a conscious decision - just forgetful....bit of a worry  :mfr_lol:

Just because many do it does not make it right. Just because many think it does not make it true.
