Following a very succesful trip(even with the snow) at Easter, I am running a little bimble back down to The Black Forrest. It is limited to 6 bikes and there are 3 places still available.

Will be leaving early doors on Sunday the 3rd via Eurotunnel (£55 return), riding 400 miles (approx 200 on Mway) to Kaiserslautern via Prum, Cochem and the Mosel.
Will check into the hotel for 2 nights (£104.76 Double room for 2 nights)

Monday 4th is "play day" we will ride approx 300 miles on some of the most awesume roads in The Black Forrest including the infamous B500

Tuesday 5th will be a reverse of Sunday back home.

So far there is me and the better half on a GTR, Nick on a ZZR and Martin on a ZR10(I think)

This will be quite an aggresive :nono: medium/fast pace (wife put her foot down ), the roads are quite technical and don't take any prisoners so not a ride for the inexperienced.
No worrying about getting lost, once off the train all you need to do is follow me, simples!

So, if you fancy it, let me know and I will give you the booking details.

:punk: sure does :agree: we were on it at Easter and it was deserted due to the cold weather, ran the length of it 6 times getting up to some silly speeds

Can't believe you are going away during The Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations !!

I haven't ridden the B500 but checked it out on google and can't see what could be so exiting about it. :ohplease:
:listencarefully: Looks rather straight and boring to me.
And getting caught speeding in Germany is very expensive!
Especially for me since I ride on a German license and could easily loose it doing silly speeds over there.
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

mecki, this might change your mind......then again maybe not. It looks like a decent stretch of tarmac to me.

It tightens up later.... a lot.. S bend after S bend.... me an Smarty stopped at one point so she could have a smoke, and all you could hear echoing through the Forest was the sound of bikes and stripped out 911's

That was the best day of the trip.. :smartass: we did 360 miles that day and only stopped cos we ran out of Germany and didn't want to hotel in Swizerland.

Well, I'm not a speed freak and getting caught doing speeds like those Dutch guys in the video would definitely cost me my licence.  :nono:
My guess is that they were doing over 140 mph in places.
The German cops may not be as devious as the Swiss but they hide and use unmarked cars or bikes too.
And they take a grim view on speeding over there as well, even though you can go as fast as you like on most motorways.

Personally I prefer open twisty roads that are a challenge without the risk of having to walk home if there are cops about.
My absolute favourite in the UK for instance is in Scotland on the way from Port William to Glencoe.
You can ride that road without significantly exceeding the speed limit and still have blistered tyres afterwards.
But of course that still doesn't match roads like the Nufenen pass in Switzerland or others in the French Alps that I have come to love.

I will be down that way in a month so I could actually give it a shot.
I'm planning to stop over in Freiburg on my way from Hamburg to Chambery around the 1st of June if the weather isn't too bad.
But since I am planning to do the Simmental and both St Bernard passes the next day time is scarce.
As I said before I'm not into illegal high speed runs.
