I note with interest that someone mentioned... 'High frequency Vibration' through the bars.... now i have noticed this myself recently, 'specialy when i rest two fingers on the levers, which is how i ride most of the time,.

first question... is this normal?? or am i being overly sensitive, I suffer from Carpal Tunnel syndrome (arm pump) and also tennis elbow, which does make me sensative to various vibi-ness. I have had the wheels rebalanced btw...also i notice it gets worse the higher the screen is, so is it coming from there.

Second question, when braking at slow speed ie in traffic there is a noticable 'clunk' from the front end ... not sure what this is and can't remember if it was there before..

I am a tad paranoid about the front calipers after the spanner money left one of 'em loose... could it possibly have damaged a disc, beare in mind i was going home cautiously as i was running a set of tyres in before i noticed the error.

many thanks chaps in advance... sound advice would appreciated followed by half a dozen posts of piss taking  :mfr_lol:
She is like the Bumblebee, she should not fly....... and yet she does!

Mogs, the vibration you are experiencing was at one time known as the "Concourse Buzz" it was evident on my 2010 machine but not on the 2008/9 one I had before, neither is it apparent on my current GTR, there has been lots of talk about this problem in the past, as it can be quite annoying and can cause numbness in your fingers, there was actually a time when dealers blamed aftermarket exhausts, but as far as I'm aware this concept was not proven.

Now, I don't know if the buzz is related to the clunk that you have now noticed or if its owt to do with the crap repair that was done to your bike , but I would be inclined to get it checked out by an authorised dealer, unless, of course, anyone else has a different view.

when I had my zx636cf6 I noticed a clunk that had just started from the front end when braking. I knew it was not the calipers because I had not long cleaned and copper greased them myself, which I do twice a year to both my bikes! so I decided to check the head bearings and they needed adjusting which took less than 15 mins to do! but that did surprise me because my zx636 had only coverd 3,000 miles from new. but did buy it used so the guy as most likely been doing wheelies and stoppies.. which dosen't do the head bearings any favors. but the gtr is a heavy bike and depending on mileage the head bearings may need adjusting. place a jack under the headers to raise the front wheel of the ground, grab the front wheel firmly with both hands then pull towards and push away from from your self and check for any play in the head bearing, there should be no movement or play when pushing the wheel away from you or pulling the wheel towards you in a rocking motion.. also while the front wheel is of the ground, turn the steering side to side only using one finger with minimum pressure, the steering should move freely with no clicking from lock to lock. if its want to stop or you feel it click when it passers over the centralised position. the head bearings will need adjustusting.
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

Mogster, have a read of this thread. Plenty of suggestions of what might be the culprit.

im at 4.5k on my 2010 model, cant say ive ever noticed this buzzing but a bit worried it will start soon , especially as im now " Looking " for it.

on other big kwacks whenever ive had front end wobble/vibration ect , its always been front tyre wear . My zzr1200 was a pig for it, every 4k miles i would get the tyre rebalanced and it would go away again, i even got my own tyre balancer for the job in the end
