Hi there, I've been searching for a while for a UK based GTR owners site and just stumbled across this one 8)

I bought my black GTR a couple of months ago now after seeing it in the MCN classifieds. I took a chance and did a 580 mile round trip to Deal near Dover dragging my wife with me to have a look and I wasn't disappointed. Cash exchanged hands and I rode away on the bike, never looked back, I should have bought one long before.

My previous bikes have been Honda CB1300's. One was a naked bike and the other was the sports version, prior to that I had the Yamaha XJR. I've always been into tourers/sports tourers and that side of owning a bike, (touring) appeals to me more than having one for any other purpose, if that makes sense.

Previously, and I mean a long time ago I had the couriers workhorse a Honda CX500 and before that a Honda Superdream 250cc, dont laugh, everyone had one of those when I was a kid.  ;D

Hi and welcome to the boards!

What year is your GTR? I assume its the earlier model? I had my eyes on a GTR since they first came out, and was top of my list when I got rid of my Varadero.

Most of my previous bikes have been adventure tourers and this is the first sports tourer I have owned. Like you, I'm extremely happy with my decision

Its on an 07 plate, not that I'm ashamed of that. Its still a terrific machine and suits my needs completely. It had just over 7k on the clock, came with abs, heated grips, after market taller screen, top box and full service history. The seller even put it through its MOT for me, three months before it was due and had it serviced a couple of days before I collected it.

So far I cannot fault it in any respect.

I've just sold an 07 for an 10 model. The 07 was definitely lighter and part of me was reluctant to sell considering all the investment.

However, I just can't resist new toys.  ;D
