Question i bought the gel seat and find it good , only problem i have noticed is that after riding i have to click the seat back down its not fully open you cant remove it but you can hear it click back down ,just wondering if i need to adjust locking mech on bike or seat or if ant of you have had this problem

O.C.

mine fits securely and is fine at all times (as far as I'm aware)

However I have heard that sometimes you need to 'adjust' the locking plate to ensure safe fitment

i have heard this problem quite a few times it used to happen to my gtr gel seat, simply bend the lug slightly on your seat ,should be no problem after that.by the way thought i would let you all know,i am at last mobile again ,as you may know after all the bother i had to sell ( practically give away!!!) my gtr ,i been looking for a cheaper bike as i could not justify the cost of the gtr in the garage for the amount of time i have to ride.so i managed to get the replacement i was looking for 52 reg zzr 1200 in silver, took my ages to find the right one ,really good condition, will be mint when i am finished with it,roll on the good weather.

I had a 04 ZZR 1200 fantastic bit of kit and I wished I still had it. My good lady used to call it " mickey mouse "and if you take a look at a head on shot of one you will see why. I hope you enjoy yours Keith, and keep us posted.

funny you mention the kawasaki gel seat, noticed mine as "unhooked" after a decent ride. so was going to ask if anyone eles has had this problem, but forgot all about it..lol so the best way to cure this! is to bend the seat clasp slightly forward or backward, or "which ever way the lock catch is securing the seat? should think it only needs bending very slightly?

glad to hear you I've sorted another bike out after selling your gtr. always been a fan of the zzr1200. is it as nice as the one you use to have? I decided not to sell my zzr1400. did I've loads of offers, but was not prepaired to drop below my reserve price, which was what my bike was worth! it's hard times for selling at present, as you quite well know! and a dam sight worse if you want what your bike is worth  suppose I was :undecided: about selling wayway. I knew at the time, when I was thinking of selling, bikes are not selling to well unless going "dirt" cheap. to be honest! I'm sure glad it never sold now  it never fails to bring a large smile to my face evertime I ride it and most likely would I've regretted selling it. anyway good luck with your zzr1200. p.s did enjoy the banter we had when you were selling your gtr, hope I didn't do your "head-in" to much

hi 2kwacks the banter is good, like i have been saying for a while now zzr 1400 and gtr are very hard to sell at there true worth,i have been trying to get another 1200 for ages ,hard to get the right bike at the right price,i seem to sell my bikes at give away prices but when i want to buy one they all want top dollar.i nearly bought a couple of zzr 1400's as they were selling quite cheaply, but i stuck to my original plan and eventually got the 1200.my last 1200 was really exceptional, and will take some beating for condition.but i will get this one as good i hope, slightly more miles 18500,on a 52 in silver full history .fairings and exhausts removed tonight ready to start the big clean, working 2morrow morning but will be straight into it when i get back,i will post a picture 2 morrow as it is .then later when i get the aluminium stripped and polished, oil and filter renewed then i will be back on the road hopefully with some good weather.i know what will happen later i will be, tempted with another newer gtr 1400 or zzr 1400, i wont have the time to ride it,then the weather will change,i will then put it up for sale and end up giving it away!!!!!!at least the zzr 1200 doesn't take up as much room as thr gtr leaving more space for my new black portfolio xf jag.
