RigsVille

mark07866, I would be very interested in your thoughts, I'm considering getting a GTR myself (currently ride a Honda Blackbird)

trousersnake01

Rigsville, I had a blackbird two bikes ago, had it for 9 years and put 72k on the clock.

I then bought a CBF 1000 but missed the big bike feel of the blackbird.

The blackbird gave me a back ache and hurt my wrists even with bar raisers, but it was the power of the thing that kept me with it.

I looked for ages on a replacement and stumbled on the GTR. What a fantastic bike. Its very fast, its very comfortable. its great on fuel for such a big engine.

My only major criticism  of the bike is the width of the mirrors, not that they are wide, its their height, they are in line with car mirrors so makes filtering on solid traffic a challenge .

But I love the bike.

Although mine is in the workshop at the moment having a cam shaft sensor repair, well getting them both done as if one has gone the others might

Mr Snake there is a difference in height I believe of the mirrors on the pre and post 2010 model. I've never had a problem with filtering but then I don't do a lot of close quarter filtering cause I always ride with the panniers on, which are just slightly narrower than the mirrors.

I ride into London every day on my commute and therefore choose to leave my panniers at home and use them when the missus comes out to play, etc.

I also tend to fold my mirrors back when I am about to be involved in filtering along certain roads as I've already put a great big crack in the offside one (thanks superglue for holding it together). I can't see what's coming up behind me but I can still see where I am going...

Hello Riggs and Welcome .... Nice to have you on board !

Winns ....  :agree:   I always leave the panniers off for the ride to Charring Cross ... Mirrors ? A job instructor once said to me and I shall never forget it ..... " Mirrors ? Don't worry about them, just concentrate what's in front of you !!! "  :police:  :mfr_lol:

Me and Rusty went into the Trossachs on our recent Scottish trip, its a beautiful location. This is from my trip back in 2011 on my black GTR. Come to think of it, it peed it down then too.
