Hi mark and welcome to the forum.

What year and model have you purchased? I did try the deauville for commuting and found it to be boring, although a very capable bike.

My 'back to biking' first bike was a deaville and I cant praise it highly enuff forwhat it is. Cheap capable commuter, poss to tour (just with not to much crap). I'd thoroughly recommend to someone like me who needed to 're-find' my biking legs, and didn't want anything too 'full on'.

Anyway, I digress - welcome to this great forum, as another fairly new to the gtr and this forum, I can say only thing better than the info and banter here is....... the bike itself - enjoy both
I came, I saw, I rode off....

I started biking 10 years ago. My first bike was a Yamaha TDM900 - still riding it and still my No1 choice. 113,000 miles on er now so she needs a little TLC. Goung around Ireland on her in July.

I have an XT660 Z Tenere for two years and have about 30,000 on that.

The wife rode the Deaville. She has given up riding, so I part-exed her bike in for the GTR. It is her bike - but I am the chaufer

Commuted on it this week to get used to it. Very different from the twin and single I am used to. Took the wife as pillion today and she felt comfy on the back. So Le-Mans(June), Scotland(July), Alps(August) two up.

It is a black one bought from Fowlers 09 plate with 5,500 on the clock. Origanally bought in Newport S.Wales. Anyone on here?

Welcome M-B,

This is a great forum for fun, wit,  information,  and GTReat 1400 education.  I am also a recent member and really enjoy the banter of this mad bunch.

They seem mostly from mid and north England but are quite tolerant of S.S.Bast'ds.

Just because many do it does not make it right. Just because many think it does not make it true.
