my z1000sx hasn't got such a thing as a helmet lock,i didn't notice one on the gtr1400,has it got one,i know you can put it in one of the pannier's,i will probably only use the pannier's when needed for a trip.

As far as I know, the gtr dose not have a helmet lock thingy! my zzr dose. but very rarely use it. I would rather carry my helmet with me, comes in dam handy if you get into a fight  either get yourself one of theses.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OnTour-Motorcycle-Helmet-Cycle-Cable-Lock-600mm-/250670852577?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3a5d25a9e1 or bung it in your pannier. or the next time your drag to the supermarket by the wife  have a look at the bike magazines. that's where I got mine from. it was free with the magazine  there small enough to carry in your pocket. I also don't use my panniers unless I'm touring, but I do I've a bagster tank cover and bag for those local ride outs as seen in this pic.  p.s "the bagster set up" dose come in the not so nice colour as well
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

Mr tapps..! another good idea is to fit a hugger to your new gtr. I've fitted the skidmarx hugger, think mine was £80.00 there good quality and easy to fit and do a excellent job of keeping the :shit: of the rear suspension and rectifier, another good idea is to fit a headlamp protector. I'm not sure of the exact replacement cost from kawasaki for the headlamp should a stone flick up and cracked it. but I'm sure it would get this result  for the sake of £25.00 for a headlamp protector, I think it's a no brainer

When we go on long trips I use the wire type cable lock for helmets, and pass it through the pannier handles as well as the grab rail  so the panniers can't be lifted. Mine is a 2009 model, and yes I can remove the panniers without unlocking them, despite what Mr Kawasali says and the modified orange brackets.

Helmet lock? Top box! Holds 2 lids.

What!What Wahhht!

The paniers are easily nickable from the 09 please    So additional cable to secure them becomes essential   :censored:

I learn something new every day on this forum it is so
Just because many do it does not make it right. Just because many think it does not make it true.
