The recent garage thread bought up a little bit of chat about the late Steve Hislop and I thought, somewhere in the back of my ancient head ... I have some pics of that trip to the IOM in 92 ..... so here are 2 of them .... just to share with you !
This first picture was taken the day after SH won the Senior TT on the White Norton .... we were staying in a private house on the Island ... my brothers ex boss moved there to avoid horrendous taxes ( even then ! ) and he in turn was mates with SH's manager ... The bike in the picture was my brothers new Ducati, so he was pleased that the man himself plonked his arse on it to have the picture taken .... Richard and Guy either end, myself and brother in the middle.....

Then this second photo is of course of the great Joey Dunlop overtaking some poor chap who started 30 seconds before him !! Even in those days I had a Nikon with a couple of extra lenses round my neck and about an hour before the start of the race I was wandering around on the mountain looking for a decent place to get my pictures .... as I walked passed this ideal spot on the bend that had "Press Only " on the entrance board I was literally grabbed by a marshal and told " In there mate " ... and shoved into one of the best places on earth ... there I stayed for the entire race, an impostor, clicking away ......

Nice one SH looks a bit like Steve macDonald from Coronation Street in the first pic  :mfr_lol:

I've been fortunate enough to have met and had my pic taken with a couple of 'Names' in the past. and met Phil Read and Giaccomo Agostini at a parade event in 2009, was presented with a prize by John (Mooneyes) Cooper in the same year, and only yesterday was presented with a prize by Steve Parrish at the Scottish Bike show

The best of all HAS to be, being served with a pint, by non other than my hero Joseph William Dunlop, in his bar at the Railway in Northern Ireland back in the mid 90s
BE KIND...
