Price seems OK, dealers don't really make a huge amount on tyres unless they order loads.....

I've just gotten a set on my GTR and dispite the hype I'm not convinced, as yet, that they are the all conquring bollox that the popular bike press has made em out to be..
They feel 'odd' at the moment, I think that they may need a few more miles and heat/cooling cycles before they give more feedback (hopefully)... this does seem a constant as I have put PR3's on the wife's 1250 Bandit (still feel odd) and also a mate has them on his Gixxer 750... (feel odd but more stable than the standard shite it came with)

I run Dunlops on the Tuono and they are the dogs nuts  :gunsmilie: and were from the moment i put 'em on..
but time will tell i suppose, if the PR3's will 'come to' the GTR

i'm not worried about mileage, more about grip tbh, and it's worth knowing that with average yearly mileage you lose 15% grip the first year and 10% during subsequent years.... this is down to a tyres finite heat/cooling cycle life and also general wear.
She is like the Bumblebee, she should not fly....... and yet she does!

Aldav ... that price is spot on ... my PR3's were within a few quid of that 262 ... and as we know, they are blooming good

I have bucked the trend and fitted a pair of Bridgestone 023's  this weekend.

They are a very quick steering tyre let's see if they are any better than the OEM!

The price is about what I paid last year fro mine on a ride/ride out fitting service.
The PR3 do seem a bit strange when first fitted but after a heating/cooling cycles + a good few miles they seem to bed in quiet nicely.

Currently looking at replacing the front PR3 on mine, after 12,000 miles it has started to develop a slightly uneven wear pattern - still plenty of tread left and grip seems to be very good.

Kind regards

I changed the OEM Bridgies for PR2s on a previous GTR and the difference was amazing, it was interesting to note that at the time the actual weight difference between the Bridgies and the PR2s was substantial, with the PR2s being much lighter they were also much more pliable, which may account for the initially 'different' feel.

I'd have to say the the OEM Bridgies on my current GTR are pretty damn good, and whilst I might like to think that the bike would be better with a set of PR3s I don't think I can justify a change until the current tyres are knackered.

I paid £299 I think for my PR3's which seems a bit more that others have paid but still worth it in my opinion.

Mate, I don,t think a few quid matters here and there but what does matter is having a decent set of boots

Could't agree more Rog the oe tyres on  the 010/011 bikes in my opinion are very good, and I kept mine on until they were dead which was 5 thousand. I now have Dunlop Pilot road 3s on and can feel no difference whatsoever from the originals, and fully expect to get about the same mileage as the first lot. Taking tyres off bikes when they have done no mileage is just madness in my opinion.

Dunlop Pilot Road 3?? Shurely Shome Mishtake?  :mfr_lol:

If you rode a 2008/2009 with the OEM BT-021s then you would understand.
They were not a particularly good tyre when brand new.
2000 miles later they were VERY unsettling as the sides wore badly on the front tyre.
I had to smooth out the profile on mine with a rasp whilst spinning the wheel to make them ride-able again.
I got 7k miles out of mine but from 2k to 7k I hated them. I wish I had changed them at 2k.
Swapped to PR2s and later PR3 and will never go back to Bridgestone unless they release a "God" tyre.

PR3 feels just like the PR2 in the dry, but what is truly awesome is that the PR3 in the WET feels like a PR2 in the dry.
Best wet weather tyre I have ever ridden with.
Not only that but they don't start "weird" handling on you until they have around 2mm tread left.

I get 12k+ from a front and 7½k+ from a rear, both PR2 and PR3.
