OK, now I understand how traction control will help

I have not triggered the KTRC yet, despite a few deliberate attempts trying to do so. However last night, out on my old bike which I still have (Trophy 1200), I pulled out of a junction fairly gently and very nearly went down on wet leaves as the torque easily overwhelmed the lack of grip.

I am starting to believe more about the value of the KTRC now. For the racers, it may save the 90mph highside, for the rest of us, it is a winter season fairings protector.  ;)

I've done that as well. A true WTF moment.
KTRC is one of the few options that will move me to the 2010 model. I'd seriously consider the BMW k1300 as well though ...

This is the first bike I have had with ABS or traction control, and whilst I doubt/hope I will never need them, already I notice I feel far more comfortable riding in horrible conditions (torrential rain, wind, leaves etc).

I don't ride any faster, I certainly don't rely on the safety aids, but it is reassuring to know they are there. That is certainly worth a lot of £££ to me, and I can say for certain that the next bike I buy (to replace my sportsbike) will have these fitted.

I think on cars you expect them to come with ABS as standard and if it didnt have ABS you'd be wondering what you were buying these days especially on a modern car. But when it comes to bikes, there are only my last two bikes including the GTR which have had ABS and I have to admit I would now be very reluctant to purchase any bike which didnt have it. But then on the other hand I've also never had to use it, so I sometimes wonder whether its not just a gimmick to lull us bikers into a false sense of security and make us feel more reassured and at the same time encourage us to buy new technology.  :-\
