Thats a coincidence.... mine too.
I popped across the road from my office into Kwaka uk headquarters and had a chat with them before i bought the gtr, they said I could take out the warrantly ext direct with them in March if I wanted to (as I didn't get the bike via a kwaka dealer). Be interesting to see if they stick to that come March? Completly off topic I know, but do you guys extend the warrantly - or just keep yr fingers crossed?

How much did they quote you for the extended warranty? I have been thinking about this since I purchased mine new in Sep.

It's £350.00.  No negotiation as it is a Big K product!

ouch, much more than the previous bike (bm). maybe I'll wander back over and ask if they reduce it as part of the good neighbours scheme... ;D  ;D  ;D
I came, I saw, I rode off....

No problems with my GTR ( should hope not it's only 10 months old !! ) but I shall buy the extended warranty when the time comes ..... just in case ... interesting point though, when I bought the bike the sales chap said to go back and buy it from him and quoted around the £350 mark for 2 years extra ... I have heard that the actual price you pay MAY vary between dealers .. is this correct ? Do K UK set a fixed price and some dealers just add on "their" own bit ? Any ideas ?

Lonewolf

Its probably like everything these days, it pays to shop around. Wouldnt surprise me if the dealers get commision for selling the extended warranties. That being the case there's always room for a bit of haggling.

When you buy it the dealer just enters all your details onto the Big K computer.  It generates it automatically with no dealer input/override.

It checks the machine is within the 2 year period since registration and kicks it back if over refusing you extra cover.  Mine was taken out the last day of it's second year but because it didn't upload to Big K until midnight it read it as a day over two years and had to be resolved with K direct.

It isn't like an off the shelf warranty - it simply extends K's own warranty (provided servicing etc is kept up) - it is bespoke to K and varies dependant on capacity.

Whilst I bought it, it sticks in my craw a little that the bike is warrantied for 4 year at a cost of £350.00 with nothing more than keeping it serviced.  If the product is that good and they have so much confidence in it, why not give the customer that warranty from day one (4 years)? (Rhetorical question!)
