Final day off work tomorrow and I've been  having a look at the various weather forecasts to see what my options are. I'm drawn towards Ludlow in Shropshire as its a while since I have been there and then it was on a family holiday as opposed to going on the bike.

Watch this space for an update later tomorrow.  ;D

I dont know what's wrong with me today, I woke up this morning and had no enthusiasm at all to get out on the bike :(

I think I'll just wash & polish the bike instead, I'm sure I saw a leaf fall on it yesterday.  :)

Pull the flies instead  ;D

:( :( I've had an absolute week from hell at work, get today out of the way and then I have three days off. I MUST get out on the bike otherwise I'm likely to go stir crazy

All systems go for tomorrow morning. Weather forecast checked, looking reasonable so I'm off to Ludlow in Shropshire. Cant wait.  ;D

Ok, well thankfully I regained some degree of sanity today by managing to get out on the bike and having a decent trip out. I did about 350 miles round trip from home to Ludlow in Shropshire and back home again. No dramas on route, the weather stayed fine and as usual I managed to take a few snaps along the way. As you do!!

A lack of planning meant I got off quite late and I didn't get home till about 7:15 pm which was way later than I had hoped and unfortunately I missed the first bit of Emmerdale, but that's a different story.
It started with a very boring journey down the motorway, in fact quite a few motorways. M62, M6, M56, yawn, and then eventually slightly more interesting routes down the A49 virtually all the way down to Ludlow itself.
About forty minutes from Ludlow I rode past and then turned around to have a look at this little water park. I'm quite fond of swans and have had a fair bit of experience rescuing them and handling them in the past. Beautiful creatures, but you have to respect them otherwise they'll kick your arse.

Straight on into Ludlow, I've been to Ludlow and some of the surrounding areas a few times, the most recent being last year but that was in the car with the family. First time on the bike, in fact any bike.

Ludlow is well known for its market which I think is held about three times a week. The market has been there for hundreds of years, although I have to admit I was a bit disappointed at some of the tat which was being sold there today.

I almost bought a duck, but then thought better of it!

These were quite colourful.

There used to be a butchers shop in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, which sold game like this but it's long gone so I was quite impressed when I saw this shop. Brought back fond memories, it would have been nice to see a few rabbits as well though.

Popped into a shop called ORVIS just to the side of the market stalls, stocked up with shooting accessories, well you never know when you might need them.

The architecture is either something you love or hate, personally it's not my taste but each to their own.

A couple of shots of typical quaint streets in the heart of Ludlow.

Ludlow Castle,

Dinham House.

Down by the river.

So it just goes to show that even at this time of the year, pick your location well, check the weather forecast and you can still get a good ride in. Got to admit though I did have to put the heated grips on, on the way home, it was bloody chilly when it dropped dark.

First job tomorrow, get the bike cleaned for the next trip. Hope you enjoy the pics.
