What is good though, reading through all this is that we are all wanting to be seen in the dark/daytime ... a safety issue that is paramount to survival on the roads ... it's a shame there are not more cyclists ( and I am one of those too ) who just don't seem at all bothered about ANY lights let alone the ones' that are meant to be on their bikes !  :)

I am very interested in fitting DRLs but can not decide where the best place to fit them on the GTR would be. I dont like them sitting outside the natural lines of the bike as i feel they spoil the 'sleekness' of the lines.

any one any ideas and if poss some pictures please

many thanks

getting there........

I have the idea (prob crazy) that if I could find a couple of rear Led cycle lights I could mount them on my side panniers, then I could switch them on at night and not have to either install wiring or remove it whenni take the pannier off, the batteries would last for quite a time as well.

Stupid or not?

I cannot tell you how surprised I was to see one of these cyclist people just appear on the road suddenly, as if from no-where, on Monday night when I was motorbiking home in the dark, wind and rain. No lights, dark rain coat, no reflective stuff, no helmet (unless it was under his hood), country lane. Fortunately I wasn't lining up for a right hand bend and was riding down the middle of the lane instead... otherwise that could have been interesting. Despite being fairly observant most of the time, I really didn't see this guy until quite late.

Where would the switch be mounted?

I have a plan to put LEDs in the pannier on the next bike. These will be wired properly, but the great thing about the idea is that it doesn't affect the mounting or unmounting of the panniers.

Just uses one of those magnetic locking gizmos, like of which Apple use on their power adapters for laptops

No switch, purely an individual light on each pannier which I simply turn on and off when I want to.
