Which accessory leads have you tried, front or back?

Ziderman

Back...they might not be the accessory leads. There with all those other dead end connectors. Think the ones I want may be tucked up under the Rear light cowling..any thoughts.

Ah yes I know what you have done. The leads you have tried are NOT accessory connectors they are if my memory serves me correctly diagnostic leads for the ABS or something.

What you need to do is remove the tool box and lift it out. Then lift out the ECU at the back of the bike, it drops onto two plastic flanges, you will see what I mean as you carefully lift it out. You dont need to unplug anything from the ECU. There is a black rubber boot tucked behind the ECU almost in the rear light section. Inside there are the two male and female accessory connector leads.

On page one of this thread, the fourth photograph are the leads you have tried I believe. The fifth photograph is a picture of the actual accessory leads which I have partially pulled out of the boot. I connected the leads up and then put the connection back inside the boot just to offer some extra protection.

Simples.

Just seen you post Lownwolf...I sussed it in end..The accessory leads are well tucked away as I realized after studying the Wiring Diagrams again & see those leads by the Diagnostic leads are not the ones I wanted Durrrrr!!!!!

All sorted now. thanks.

LW, we need to hook up sometime so I can see your install, as well as benefits. My sena speaker has blown and although its under warranty, I'm thinking of getting it replaced and selling it. The Autocom is on my list, especially as they have a new model out next month.

Theirs a black flange that you can unbolt , it slides out from under the rear small cowling above the Brake light. That lifts off & all is revealed. You can unbolt the seat lock catch & makes it even easier.
That's alternative to Lonewolves method. Pends weather your a Nut & bolt man or a Sparky.... ;D

NB, I dont have any weekends off until the end of February. If you like I can catch up with you then and you can have a gander at the Autocom set up.

An update on the Autocom and camera installation. Some of it good and some of it bad.

Ok, I went upto the Lakes the other week and thought that finally I would get an opportunity to test everything out. The Autocom system worked great, as I hoped it would. Classic Soul & Motown music pumped into my ears there and back with crystal clear verbal intructions from the sat nav when needed. So no problems there.

On the other hand however I tested the camera quality out in a reallife situation and it was extremely poor. I'd taken a HD system off the bike in favour of the new camera set up and obviously I didnt expect HD quality, but I did expect somthing half decent. Unfortunately the results were very disappointing. The only aspect of the new camera set up which was any good was the ability to record voice comms through the Autocom set up. Vocals were of the quality I had expected but the entire system was let down by the quality of the video recordings even on the highest recording resolutions.

Ok, so I thought about options, I wanted to retain the ability to record comms, as that was one reason why I bought an Autocom. Despite having had the camera system for almost two months the manufacturers agreed to take it back and provide a full refund after I explained what the problem was. I made some enquiries and discovered that I could link up a digital dictaphone to the Autocom and link the Autocom and dictaphone with a mic lead from Autocom with a built in noise reduction sensor.  Hey presto, the system works better than ever. I can lift the MP3 recording off the dictaphone and drop it straight into the video editing software and the quality is superb. The dictaphone was £60 approx, compared with the £250 I paid for the substandard camera. I'm going to put the HD camera back on and then use the two media formats independently of each other. All this means is that it will take an extra five minutes or so at the editing stage.

I wish Lonewolf was in Oxford, I'd pay him to install my Autocom and radio system when i get my new bike on Sep 1st.

Thats very kind of you to say that. I have a different model of Autocom now, I went for the Logic 1 which is a terrific unit. If you like I'll take some photos of the installation of that and show you how I hooked it up.

This is the set up I have now, I am happier with this Logc 1 than I was with the Super Pro.
Everything fits snugly away.

I had to drill a few holes in the plastic tool tray but they are only about £15 to replace.

Fits perfectly. I swopped the Super Pro because I used to get minor interference in one ear from the system when I had it situated on top of the ECU and there was nowhere else I could find for it to go. This is obviously still on the ECU but I get no interference with this model.

Excellent photo's, i suspect the first weekend i have the bike shall be spent under the seat installing my system, after riding it of course.

Thanks
