How about a Yamaha fjr ,the thing is the gtr is so smooth , the versys is a 1000cc and as I have read will be more buzzy ,I had a zzz 1100 and 1200 the gtr engine is turbine smooth compared to them ,thatís what 1400 cc does , if I had it as my only bike it should have gone by now but after 6 years it still gives a great ride ,just swop between your bikes and itís good points will outweigh the bad bit the weight ,  :biker3:

Spoke to a chap that had just got his and seemed happy so far ,, but looking round his bike I thought it lacked the wow factor fo4 a 16 grand bike , the wheels had a very rough finish to them , had no presence about it unlike the gtr , but I bet you could get hooked on the power rush ,

The recall is for the abs ,dodgy pipe or cable , the 990 not been recalled ,  my 1050 ,which is the same as the 1190 ,bar detuned engine , I have had no letter as yet , me mates not had one yet for his 1290 adventure yet either,

Fine choice , I have a ktm 1050 adventure ,plus a 990 superduke , and. I love them both , had a go on the 1290r  , but would have had to part with the gtr to able to get it ,and just could not do that , am sure you will like it ,  :biker3:

Who go's off road anyhow , I got my ktm 1050 to go on tight twisty bumpy back roads ,which after doing Ireland and Scotland  and going to the Alps next year is proving ideal for the job ,no way do I. Need any more.  power , as my riding mate on his ktm 1290 adventure proved by having to put it in 100hp mode on the wet shitty roads we went on , people buy Africa twins and never go to Africa or across deserts , any bike can go anywhere as Nick sanders proved by going round the world on a r1 , if you want to go proper green laning then a small lightweight bike is all I would use , my gtr is still king for two up distance work , but the 1050 is miles more fun on back roads , still you pays your money. And makes your choice , I just think that 160-180 hp for back road riding is a waste of time , you. Need less weight not more power ,  :biker3:
