look at the forum plenty of reports about poor BMW experiences in recent times. As I recall several in the thread you removed due to intimidation fears!

Look at which forum? Look at a Kawasaki forum for praise and compliments for another make of bike, are you really that naive? I removed the other thread which you refer to due to your incessant, relentless goading and tedious negative comments of anyone elseís choice of bike which doesnít match yours. I shall remind you that three previous regular visitors to this forum, no longer visit, (to the detriment of the forum) because they found your input regarding BMW irratating to the point of frustration.

We all have different requirements, finances and expectations from our bikes, Iíve tried a few bikes over the last ten years approximately ranging from two Honda CB1300ís, a Yamaha XJR1300, two GTRís, a BMW K1600 and more recently two BMW GS Adventures.

I really donít understand your constant vendetta be it against either me and/or BMW. If you donít like me, donít engage with me, if you donít like BMW, fair enough everyone has opinions but you really do not need to ram your opinions down the throats of others with the persistence which you do so regularly.

The End!  :sweatdrop:

not my experience I'm afraid and quality poor for the price.

Yeah but you haven't had a BMW for a while have you so you're out of touch with things.

Be wary though of poor BMW quality control and expensive servicing. Also prices are from so to get to a reasonable level costs a lot.

Pete, BMW service costs are very comparable with the GTR if not even cheaper as I found out to my surprise with the K1600.

I saw the new Versys 1000 at the NEC show, well as much as can be seen at that show.......however a visit to my local dealer this weekend gave me the opportunity to view the 'basic' model in great detail, and it is spectacular

I have ordered a top of the range SE Grand Tourer which will bd available in February /March 2019.... the specification is far too much to list....AMAZING  !  I cant wait

ah that explains that. I hope you both enjoy your new bike. Was it secondhand or new?

Pete the clue is where Colin says the bike had just come in as a part exchange.  :whistling:

Pete, as Iíve mentioned many times before, I fear not if I experience problems with my GSA as despite it being used it comes with a two year warranty so I can rest assured that I will have at least two years trouble free riding and by then Iíll be due a new bike which comes with a three year warranty.  BMW love them or hate them, they certainly have excellent customer focus especially at my local dealer, Allan Jeffries at Baildon.

Was there no method of lowering the Versys rear foot rests like the Gtr?

Pete, Iím just saying.....but donít you think itís ironic that on a Kawasaki site the only current topic activity is about BMWís and in a good light.

Strength to the brotherhood that is bmw.  :whistling:

The GS doesnít have any bizarre traits such as you have just described. I just fire it up and off we go.

Colin, I genuinely never thought I would gel with the GSA as I have. I thought it would be underpowered  and I expected the wind protection to be non existent with such a small screen, it is neither. Obviously itís not as rapid as the GTR but itís a great bike.

I have a trip to Scotland booked for next year which Iím really looking forward to experiencing on the GSA, Iím doing the NC500 plus some other parts of the West coast. It should be epic.

The GT is quite a big bike, how does it match up to the GTR?
